Jon Stewart has made me want two icons. One with the three folks mentioned above, and one that's just text, or perhaps pics of Stewart and Clooney, and says, "I am flattered that you think enough of me to make gay innuendo."
Anyway, spoilers ahead.
So that Thanksgiving episode? I mean, wow, Betty is a total raging beyotch isn't she? I'm sad because she gives nice cheerful people a bad name—this is why so many people think we're fake, because of people who do fake it. And Sam is a total instigator, with the whole getting Frank to yell at Marcel thing! I don't love Marcel, but he's really all right and I feel bad for him. I always knew Carlos wasn't going to last the long haul but I did like him. I'm hardcore rooting for Cliff and Elia at this point, I think, with some support for Ilan as well, but wow, what an unlikeable cast. Up next is apparently not another PR, but a new show with interior designers.
Wow. Those last two Veronica Mars episodes wrapping up the first mystery arc were fantastic. I think in January I'll watch all the episodes again before I say too much, but I think they've managed the transition to college pretty well. Here's hoping that the next mystery will include more Weevil, Wallace and Mac.
So like, you guys? Studio 60 was good tonight! I wish Aaron would stop lecturing us or airing petty grievances long enough to give us another one. I find Matt/Harriet to be vaguely tiresome and in the long run they're probably better off apart, but I don't have a lot of patience for will they or won't they to begin with. As for Danny/Jordan, Danny could not have possibly been cuter, with Jordan or with Matt. I love Matt and Danny; they're slashy without it really interfering with their female love interests. I could see them just sort of doing it on the side when they aren't doing something else, you know, fitting it into the spaces.
Just to interject: I read some not good Matt/Danny slash recently. Not that it was poorly written; far from it. But it unnecessarily demonized Harriet and had some other undercurrents that I just find irritating. It reminds me of the truly superlative Danny/Rusty from Ocean's Eleven (it's up at Yuletide) that I read a couple of years ago. It successfully found the sexiness in Danny and Rusty's interactions, but also made it believable that Danny was in love with Tess, and all without a lot of self-sacrifice or other hoo-hah.
