heidi8 posted a pic of the DA from the OotP movie here at fiction_alley. So my thoughts are

1. OMG Dean is so tall! That is awesome.
   
2. I think that's supposed to be Zacharias Smith second from the left. He looks like Peter Noone from Herman's Hermits.
   
3. Who is the "missing member of The Strokes" Ravenclaw next to him? Heidi's guess is Terry Boot; you NA fans out there will know why, if it is, that will never stop being funny.
   
4. Hurrah, Padma is definitely a Ravenclaw. Unless that's Cho's buddy whats-her-name. ETA: Wishful thinking; she's a Gryff, and definitely not Marietta, who I think is just Not In This Picture.
   
5. Wow, the twins look grown up with that short hair. Totally ready to leave school.
   
6. Where's Lavender? If they never cast her, what are they going to do in HBP, have Ron date . . . Padma? Parvati?
   
7. The Room of Requirement has some SICK drainage.

Totally new Colin then, which is not surprising as ONTD had the original Colin's myspace and he's all goth and covered in facial piercings now. Though truthfully I would find a goth Colin so so so amusing.

Between him, no Lav and that random black kid in PoA we really ARE working up to a movie canon aren't we? Golly. It's like the more JKR doesn't conserve her characters the more the movie makers have to fuck with what she's doing because they have to.

Fortunately for them, new cast member requirements go way down after this one, presuming book seven follows the trend of six. All they'll need is a Slughorn and whatever elements of the flashbacks they decide to include.
