Hump-day is TV-day!
Apr. 20th, 2006 01:25 amWatch me as I melt into a puddle of Weevil-goo. I would be in a pool of Keith-goo but since I have to choose I'll go with Weevil.
OMG Weevil fucking laid it down man.
cassandraclaire brought up Shane but we agreed that the better parallel was HIgh Noon. Weevil saved the sorry asses of the people who had spurned his excellent leadership and then threw their tin star into the dirt. Weevil, I'll be your rifle-toting Quaker bride any time.
Keith begging for his life then springing into action when the gun wasn't loaded was just bliss. I get such a hard on for Keith beating the shit out of someone. He looks squarish and out of shape but he's a highly trained machine. Loving the Keith and Veronica moments in this episode and also Weevil pointedly calling him "sheriff."
I'm so bad at speculation; that's
weatherby's gig. So I'll just say that I'm dorkily looking forward to prom, where we'll see Wallace with Jackie, poor Mac with Butters, apparently some sort of Logan and Veronica interaction, and who knows what else!
I couldn't be more pleased with the result on Top Chef tonight. Miguel needed to go, and Stephen needed to be brought down a peg or three, as did Tiffani. I was also glad that Dave won the trip because he really needed the boost, not to mention that we finally got to hear him say "I'm not your bitch, bitch!" Harold could afford to fly under the radar a bit since he'd already impressed with his sandwich, but I'm not sure how much longer he can continue to play both ends of every game. Next week looks really crazy; I wonder if the big three (Harold, LeeAnne and Tiffani) will survive?
Sad goodbye to Ace tonight but it was time. Was Simon really crying? I'm telling you, he's actually a big softie with a crunchy bully outside. I'm also so pleased that Elliott wasn't in the bottom three, though not surprised that Kellie wasn't either. I was surprised at Paris's result because I thought she was great, but not Chris's just because the votes probably moved elsewhere. (For the record, I voted 10 times for Elliott and once each for Katharine and Chris.)
I have to admit, I am so not looking forward to this Andrea Bocelli love song bullshit next week. Talk about treacle. I bet we can thank Simon "Il Divo" Cowell for this one. Very tough to call how things will go. Clearly the Chris-fans don't love him moving out of his comfort zone but I'm sure he'll find some fucking power ballad and be fine. As talented as they are, Paris and Elliott are not going to win this but I wonder how far Kellie's personality can really take her. Katharine, on the other hand, seems to be gaining momentum and I bet she'll rock the love song. Right now I think I'm seeing Katharine/Taylor/Chris/Kellie as the four up for final three, but I have no idea how it will really come down.
I also have a thing for Grant on Mythbusters. After these papers are toast I'm so making cute boy icons.

Date: 2006-04-20 03:11 pm (UTC)In some ways I'm glad Ace is gone before this because, treacle. But wow, everyone was so sad to see him go. The TWOP recaplet said it was clear it was Ace from the minute Ryan came on the stage with that fake, tight smile. They all just really liked him. I was so pleased he got that standing ovation.

Date: 2006-04-21 11:10 pm (UTC)I'm really amazed at Weevil's arc this season, though I wish they had been able to use him more often. I love his ability to come out on top; he's like a cat. And very, very smart. And Jackie, amazingly self-reliant and also on her way to Paris.
Kendall, unexpected depth of criminal ability!
