Friends,
Usually, I don't really bother about comments on stories or what have you. But you asked for the story, I wrote the story. Read the goddamned story and tell me what you think. Sequel is forthcoming but silence is disheartening. This isn't blackmail; I'll write the sequel and post it no matter what, because I want to. It's just a little insecurity-making and I've had enough of that for this week. Deal?
I'm watching the show live tonight so comments will be longer, more coherent and timelier. The whole "let's sing in the guest celebrity" thing is getting really old and annoying. But I'm pleased that since we have more time, and standards aren't that long anyway, that the editing will be at a minimum.
I promise that I won't be writing Simon in a bunny suit into any future stories. That's too weird even for me. But I think it's Ryan that is sipping the happy juice, to be honest. Though that little *snap* "Magic!" was, as Helen would say, gay, gay, gay. Also I am developing a crush on the guy buying wart remover in the Ford Fusion ad. Another nice thing about watching AI live is sticking around to watch House. Mmm, I just love that Robert Sean Leonard overbite.

- Chris, "What a Wonderful World." Well, it's about time we had a great start to the show. He just sounded fantastic. I'm so pleased. I also love that Simon took some credit for it; so Simon. I just wish he hadn't worn the white shirt because with the less facial hair he looked a bit washed out (or it could have been the lighting).
- Paris, "These Foolish Things." Mmm, why is Paris wearing something she can't sit in? Love the hair and the color though. She sounded amazing, classy as Randy said, but a little affected; like, she didn't need to bop all over the song like that, you know? But that's a quibble and I can only say it because she was so solid to begin with.
- Taylor, "You Send Me." Right so, is this really in the songbook? I mean, isn't this more, 50s soul? Nevertheless a very good song choice and a solid performance. Love the way he brought it home, too. He really put his own stamp on it.
- Elliott, "It Had to Be You." Elliott looks awesome in his purple shirt and his pocket square and then the jeans. He brought it, man. He totally brought it. But what the fuckydoodle with those backup singers? And I don't agree with Simon; he had plenty of personality. Still, I'm going to sit here and vote for him like 25 times.
- Kellie, "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered." Isn't she a little young for this? I mean, it's an older lady's song. Phrasing in the bridge was a little weird and she got way ahead of the beat in there someplace. Honestly? Just really not a very good job. But I can't imagine that she'll actually be gone even if she did fuck up.
- Ace, "That's All." I was listening to "Father Figure" (the original) today and I thought, "remember when Ace didn't suck?" Then I watched this and I'm sorry, why does he look like a chemistry teacher? But Simon was right, it wasn't bad. Charming is the perfect word.
- Katharine, "Someone to Watch Over Me." I love this song; it may be my favorite standard. (I know she didn't have time for the verse but that's really too bad because it's awesome.) I think we all knew that Katherine would be completely amazing; it was pretty and lush and everything it should be.
