I really hate April Fool's Day for a whole bunch of reasons too personal to put here and which, frankly, I don't think you deserve to know about me. Since some fans of the day have already started in (making this into what, a 48-hour ordeal or something) I'm going to hop off LJ until Sunday morning though I'll be intermittently around on chat. You can say this means that I can't take a joke. That's fine; I'm used to that, believe me.

If you need me, email me, though that's good policy anyway.

This is a good idea. I wonder if my LJ-addicted self can implement it.

I hate it, too. Mostly because I'm the most gullible person I've ever known. My policy is just to patently not believe anything I read/hear/see on April 1st, whatsoever. I've very rarely missed something important because of it. ;)

My mother says I was the best April Fool's prank ever - I was due on 4/1 and apparently my mother had several hours of really strong false labor that afternoon and evening, only for me to stay exactly where I was for another THREE WEEKS. :P

...I just think it means you have better stuff to do.

I promise to not indulge in any April first tom-foolery because:

A. I'm still PISSED OFF that Spacemonkey's wedding is a no go.

B. I move tomorrow.

C. Cable might not be back on until FRIDAY.

So stay safe, have fun, and beat the morons with 4x8s 'cause it'll hurt more.

I really don't think there's a need to apologize for a very expected April Fools FA Front page change, IMHO. I'm almost certain that Clio has seen it before....

For what it's worth, I hate surprises and practical jokes, and I'd never foist them on anyone else. I just HATE things like this with a fairly white-burning rage. So. Not. Funny.

She's totally right. My only vague(-ly lame) annoyance with you is that you started so early and I thought, damnit, now other people will be early. But as you said in your post, institutional sillyness is fantastic (and certainly FA does something every year) while personal stuff is sort of NOT. Like, for instance, posting that you have cancer so everyone will be sad and then going "april fools!"

You watch, I'll like, get a boyfriend and post about it on april 1 and no one will believe me.

I both can and can't believe that you're still pissed off about that.

You won't see this so I'll text you: panicky grouchy moving texts are welcome!

As do you, apparently, cutie. Here's to better things to do! Go us!

HA, what a fun story! I was adopted so I admit, I'm so jealous of people's birth stories!

A friend on LJ posted recently about being trusting and whether this was good or bad. Clearly there's a line that you need to maintain but I see people who are really not trusting and cynical and I'm not sure it really saves them much trouble at all. So there!

I did like, 3 and a half hours of reading for a paper last night. O_O

I should clarify. The ceremony was canceled, with that I am at peace. My problem is this - because the president is set on involving our nation in other people's business, my cousin and Ricochet were denied their right to participate in one of the oldest rites of passage that a human may experience: public, legal, spiritual recognition and celebration of their pair-bonding.
