I watched about 15 min of American Idol tonight and managed to catch Ryan commiserating with some girl who called her bf when she was recuperating from surgery only to have the girl he was cheating on her with pick up the phone. I have to say, Ryan's whole affect during this—I mean, he was about a step away from saying "oh no he di-ent!"—was gayer than I've ever seen him, and that's saying a lot. My god, just come out already and get a house in the hills with Simon or something.

In other signs of the apocalypse, there is a young man on MTV auditioning girls to be his own Ashlee Simpson. Really, young man, aim higher.

Umm.. so, why is Ryan even needed on that show?

I think he's only in the early parts so they aren't dissing him and because they need someone to do the voice over to make the show cohesive. But you know, when they go live they need a host. I mean, he's a moron, but he's a pretty good host.

I've seen that second show! How horribly ridiculous is that? Mr/Ms. "I live in fantasy land" meets Ms/Mr. "I'm so desperate for a date that I'm willing to turn myself into someone else". I mean, HELLO, what are the odds of things going well at all when the person you're with is only with you because you aren't you. It makes no sense! I'd rather watch Next and I think that's a terribly shallow and lame updated version of the old Dating Game/Love Connection.
