jlh: Clara Bow (It Girl)
Woke up to a very sleepy A&E whose daugher, A, kept them up much of the night unfortunately. E is a teacher so he's pretty much home at the moment; A has a very flexible schedule. So A, Q&A, and I set off for a kid's concert at the Hollywood Bowl. A-kid is not quite two; Q is going on four, and our route took us down the canyon.

It was awesome. The concert was also fun, and then D picked me up on his way home from the bf's house. We dropped our stuff off at home, then went to get tacos with Cassie and Josh before spending the afternoon at the beach. Josh started out by embarassing me with a "D! I've heard so much about you!" which, like, D doesn't need a bigger ego or to know that I talk about him; he can get a little hinky about that. But the tacos were good and the beach was excellent and the water was very warm.

We went our seperate ways and I waited at D's for my friend J-the-poet to arrive. There was a poetry reading that night and we were going to grab a quick dinner and then go to the reading and then hang out. J is awesome and made me feel much more sane about HBP among other things. We listened to some poets she knows read from a book about Shakespeare that funnily enough had an entire section devoted to Hamlet. Then we went to get coffee and some of the poets were there and unknowingly began talking about J. Frustratingly, we couldn't hear what they were saying, only her name, and when she heard her name she sort of said, "hello! I'm right here!" but they took no note of us. J is off to write and teach without quite as much security (but hopefully more reward) than she has been, and I'm really proud of her and excited for her.
