A pause in the activity

So we didn't end up going to the show on Sunday night, because the touring shows were cancelled months ago only no one knew that for reasons that are far too complicated to go into, and instead we had a nice dinner, a long fast walk on very full stomachs to a closed theater, a nice drive home, and collapsed on the couch and watched Surreal Life and Midsommer Murders. It's been a really excellent vacation so far. Lots of beach time and out in the sun time and being with close friends time.

Right now I'm trying to work on a couple of shorter pieces while D is practicing Bach on his piano. It's morning and the house is full of sunlight. We just finished an old NYT Sunday crossword puzzle, eating french toast with apples that I made for my last breakfast here. I've seen all the friends I wanted to see, and tomorrow I'm off for the land of tea_and_toast. But today it's mostly just me and D, here in his house.

Oh, that sounds so peaceful. Enjoy it while it lasts, for here in the land where the tea flows freely and the toast is lightly buttered we have no peace, for we are covered in drips and crumbs.
