So, when [livejournal.com profile] mistful was here at Christmastime, we all went looking at the shop windows one evening and wound up in Barney's looking at perfumes. [livejournal.com profile] cassandraclaire, who knows such things, said that she felt I was a violet girl. It was an excellent suggestion, and I've been vaguely poking around for violet scents ever since.

Then today, [livejournal.com profile] calloocallay, who you may well imagine is enamored of all things Alice-y, linked to Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's Alice in Wonderland inspired scents. Intrigued by their goth theme, I went poking around for violet scents and found several! They offer a pack of 6 samples, one of which I'm giving to Emily as a thank you, so I will have five violet scents to sample. I've narrowed down the list of 19 to these 11. Friends (and I'm limiting the poll to friends as they've usually met me in person/know me well), I need your help to narrow them down even further.

[Poll #488317]

And the march to make Clio a bit more girly continues on . . .

Just wanna say that BPAL is excellent quality and really unique - so far, every scent I've tried has managed to surprise me. Good luck picking something out - narrowing it down is always tricky. *g*

I want everything on that site. International shipping prices are so unfair :(

I'm crossing off anything with sandalwood. It just doesn't say you to me at all. I especially like the sound of Le Serpent Qui Danse and Sybaris for you. Ultraviolet I selected because I think I remember us having a conversation about liking clean scents (and I love Eucalyptus and Mint for that reason). Morgause and Marie sound like softer scents than the others, more understated but possibly alluring. If we had the option of picking six scents, the sixth would have been Nocturne but it paled when I had to cut down the list.

Let us know how it goes.

Now see, I didn't go with Ultraviolet *because* of the eucalyptus and mint. Yes, it is a clean scent, but it will always and forever remind me of the mix I put in my oil burner when I'm stuffy. :))

I think the other scents will soften the eucalyptus and mint without taking too much away from them.

For it to come close to stuffy-fixer in my mind it would have to lose the flowers, and add some other, stronger oils like cajeput, camphor, peppermint, wintergreen, or even juniper.

BPAL *rules* And FWIW, I voted Venice -- it's very sophisticated, and would suit you beautifully.

(Says the Debauchery girl. *g*)
