Ramblings of a Saturday morning

Thank you,
Speaking of which, I can't believe (though I can) that a bunch of world leaders giving each other the sign of peace during the funeral mass is causing such controversy. Somewhere, the Pope is laughing.
In completely opposite news, Eric Robert Rudolph has pled guilty and agreed to tell the authorities where he hid 250 pounds of dynamite and a completed bomb up in the mountains, in exchange for four consecutive life sentences rather than the death penalty. And even with that, some victims and victims' families are expressing their disappointment and note that they are going along with the plea for the sake of the safety of others. One of them even said she felt that he wasn't being punished enough for causing her injuries. Friends, I've known people in jail—I've visited people in jail—and believe me, it will be plenty punishment, particularly for a man who hates the government, is a big survivalist, and hates people of color. Oh my yes, it will be hell for him.
The Life Laundry is so much better than Clean House or Clean Sweep. They're all about the decorating (which, if I wanted a decorating show, I'd be watching HGTV). Life Laundry is all about crying while you let go of your clutter. LOVE.
I like the sun setting so late and all, but it's a drag that it rises so late. I woke up at 6am this morning and it was still darkish. I mean, 6am, not really ass crack of dawn there.

Date: 2005-04-09 03:23 pm (UTC)Clearing out clutter the first time is often wibble inducing, but it is so CLEANSING. Then again, I have a studio and I have to be rather maniacal about it or I will be quickly buried.

And honey, 6 am is so SO the asscrack of dawn. Damn. I am barely functional before 7 am. This is actually problematic, as O has to be at school by 7:40 am starting next year. Not looking forward to the whole public school thing. :-/

Date: 2005-04-09 03:32 pm (UTC)Yes, but my point was, 6am should not be the asscrack of dawn when it isn't the dead of winter and 7am becomes the asscrack of dawn. 6am is not a shockingly early time to be up if you have a job and you work out in the morning. Getting up before the sun reminds me of (1) early high school, when I woke up at 5:45 because the bus came at 6:45 and school started at 7:20 and (2) family car trips to Iowa, where we'd agree to leave the house at 6 but Dad would get into the car whenever he was ready and start honking the horn even if Mother and I were right on time. If he was ready by 5:30, by god he wanted to leave at 5:30.

Date: 2005-04-09 05:52 pm (UTC)Some time ago BBC America had this Saturday night line up of Life Laundry, House Doctor and Location, Location, Location but they don't do that anymore, sadly. I am vexed. And this is why I need TIVO. Also for the random airings of MacMillan & Wife on channel 55.
