Talking to Alison tonight, I read this post from glockgal which led me to this stupid post on something aweful. Lately I've had a whole head of steam up about female sexuality that I've been deflecting to other places, and I'm going to do it again. I had a plot bunny on the plane today (business travel, ugh) that at the time scared me a little bit. I thought, can I actually post something like this?

But you know, I'm going to write that fucker tonight, and light_music, or tea_and_toast, or slytherincess? Beta? (And Julie, I totally owe you. And Dionne, I read it and left it for Heidi. And Carrie, I owe you massive reviewing.)

In other news, in the car on the way back from the airport we went through the park and O! I can't wait to see the gates up close! They are so beautiful, particularly on a gray day like today.

So my night will be watching Project Runway and writing smut. Yours?

I didn't because despite my best effort and a very clean apartment, I cannot find my VCR remote and without it I can't program the thing. It may mean I need to get the Tivo in the cable box. I'm just loathe to get hooked on it with hopefully an impending drastic reduction in wherewithall.

So completely off-topic, but because Cassie reminded me and made me realise I hadn't discussed it with you, I have caught up on all of VM (actually, I did a couple of weeks ago) and I love, love, love it. I am all about Veronica and Logan. If I were to ship, I'd ship them, but really, I just want them to hang out and be icy/awkward around each other. There is not a character on this show that I don't like. The writing is so tight, too. The mysteries are being suspended over the season in such a well-written way that completely blows Lost out of the water. Not that the two have anything in common, but I caught up on them at about the same time, and while Lost has just started to piss me off with the way we are learning nothing, VM is doing completely the opposite.

Clearly I am going to have to call you very soon to discuss VM! And wow, you are all VM iconed out baby. Cassie, as you might expect, is also a big Logan fan. I admit to a soft spot for Weevil, and then a big thing for Keith. Cassie and I were particularly pleased last week with the way they showed the hip hop daughter story and linked that to Logan's anger at Veronica. They really just don't drop a single detail. I'm excited that they promise they will wrap up the Lilly mystery this season--only eight more eps!

So please download, and Friday is great. What was really interesting about the something awful was how quickly it became much less about HP or fanfic or even chan really and became oh no, these women are reading porn. There was an actual assertion that naked women are beautiful and naked men are gross and even women think so and that's an aesthetic thing and not a cultural thing. Bf seemed to only want a gf that was kinky in a way that served him, or maybe he had a madonna/whore thing going on so a hooker that was kinky, fine but a girlfriend not so much. What was upsetting was how many women were barging in and saying, "I'm not kinky, these people are sick!" Ugh.

Sorry you've not had a stellar day, but I hope the evening was much easier on you. *hugs* As for me, a friend stopped by and kidnapped me (ACE bandaged legs and all) off to a short read through of the Vagina Monologues and we grabbed some carry out on the way back. There was a small, bright, laughing two year old waiting for me when I got back who questioned my shoes, my not having been home and then wanted held and read to. She is sleeping and I am about to do so. I hope tomorrow fares better for you love.

If we lived in the same city, there would be weekly crossover kidnappings. I'm glad you are able to sleep in your own bed then tonight. I am looking forward to the weekend as well. My plans are to do nothing but what I want to do when I don't have to have my legs up. I'm getting rid of the entire family - sending two of them away and banishing the other three from visiting. I am very happy about this, though I will miss the smallest member of the family. Friends are coming over friday night to watch that geek new show we're all addicted to and eat dinner. I might do some hard copy beta work in bed but that is the extent of planing I'll consent to. ;)
