Got seven tops and a cute belt at Old Navy today, and finally found some brown sneakers at Sketchers. Let's hear it for tax free week! Tomorrow after brunch I'm grabbing a new post for the cat and the new Fruits Basket. *thinks dangerous thoughts about Hatori in his bedclothes* I owe [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_toast drabble, but as she hasn't read through vol 6 I've been holding off a bit. Vol 7, though, might be very inspiring.

You know, I always knew that LJ quizzes and memes were really like those chain letters, but now an actual chain letter has become an LJ quiz. Silly, really. My results are nearly always the same. However, as was said elsewhere, this is me telling 37 people.

This morning I bought food for Super Bowl tomorrow while my delicates washed at the laundromat. Then I brought in my regular laundry for them to do and faffed off to shop. And now, I'm going to get some dinner and start cleaning up this place.

Am now inspired, and Marc and I are finishing the anime tonight. :D

I have just eaten my entire chocolate allowance for the entire year. I can't decide if I should spin like a top or pass out.

Clearly what you should do is ping me.

I have to say, when you were all, come by at 6pm I was pouty. Don't think I could have made it to your place since I only got home at 6 tonight.

Dude, you HAVE TO FINISH THE ANIME. Also, if you have been watching it in Japanese with subtitles, Val recommends that for the final episode you turn on the dub because the translation is weird and you'll misunderstand stuff otherwise.

My parents came for the Chocolate Party and are still here. After thoroughly hopping on his Pop (which is what he calls my dad), O decided he needed to read him the book version. I'll ping after they've gone. I will also send you virtual chocolate malt, because (as usual) my mother made far too much and it's hanging out in my freezer. And there are way, way extra brownies. Besides, we had to do it at 6 b/c Teen Titans is on now and Justice League comes on at 7:30 and we are a family of priorities.

I've been listening to the dub. I know this makes me very girly and I have been well assured that I'm doing it All Wrong but they are very cute and I want to snug them. Also, it makes the multitasking easier, and I am so out of the habit of just sitting and watching something without doing something else. I do not have the Zen watching thing down at all, by a long shot.

I saw all the anime at Val's house, so she got to be a dictator about it and I didn't do anything else. I will say, though, that when we switched to the dub at the end I sort of lost touch with their being Japanese since they have those round anime eyes and all that. They suddenly seemed like slightly eccentric American teenagers. So I like the subtitles better for that. But what is Zen watching?

Those sound like good priorities. I later abandoned Maltese Falcon which I've seen like 35 times for something I'm going to post about in a bit.

Zen watching is my totally madeup bullshit name for that meditative and slightly altered state that can be induced by focusing all of your attention on the media feed of your choice. When I'd first had the kids and left grad school I spent a lot of time thinking on the art of doing just one thing and it was actually really fantastic, but I simply haven't time for it anymore - I'm usually trying to catch up on prep for class or email while I'm watching things, and it's a bitch to try to read subtitles on top of that. It's a shame but there it is.

I sort of lost touch with their being Japanese since they have those round anime eyes and all that.

That is really very interesting.

Oh! I actually can almost never do that. I grew up in a house where the TV was always on (not seemingly, but actually—Mother turned it on when she woke up in the morning and Dad turned it off when he went to bed) so I never think of it as something that should have my full attention. I've always read in front of it though I'd rather read to music. And when I'm online at night the TV is usually on.

Is it interesting? It just suddenly seemed like they weren't Japanese anymore.

Also, OMFG but do I have a crazy insane raging crush on Hatori. Damn. This is my first crush on an animated character and I'm more than a little embarrassed by the whole thing but I repeat: Damn. *hisses the good hiss*

Also, this is my new favorite icon.

*returns to marathoning*

Did you finish? What did you think?

I did finish, and I finished reading Vol 6 today, just in time for Vol 7 to come out (it's on its way - I am SO milking the Amazon Prime thing for every penny and the UPS man is going to hate me by the end of the month). Oh. It's one of those situations where I wish I hadn't finished it, just because I want there to be MORE. :(( And it also makes Kyo a little more lovable for me, because I've spent a lot of time wanting to plant a boot in his ass. We're discussing a rewatch.

I am so hooked on this series. I love these characters and ths family and their stories and oh, Clio. So much love. I am such a girl.
