Where did the week go?
Feb. 4th, 2005 01:04 pmSo I got home rather late on Tuesday night--ate dinner at work--and found that I felt much better than I had any previous night. That's stayed: the bone-deep exhaustion has gone! W00t!
Wednesday was another crazy work day and then off to see The Aviator with a friend and his friend. The Aviator was fantastic! It was long, but unlike most movies over 2.5 hours it really didn't noticeably drag during the second act. Leo was truly magnificent--never mind that he looks young in real life. When he was embodying Hughes, "Leo" really dropped away. Cate Blanchett and Kate Beckinsale were also terrific, though to truly appreciate their performances I think you have to be familiar with Hepburn and Gardiner. Then we went off to a bistro after because neither I nor Friend2 had been able to grab dinner before the movie. I had so much fun, laughed so much!
Yesterday was even crazier. We had an off-site work function in the morning, then we grabbed lunch out, and then I was off to another off-site meeting so I didn't even turn on my computer yesterday until 5:45! Then it was off to have a drink with a fellow alum whom I've been helping make a career transition.
And today I'm splitting from work at 5pm sharp so I can run home and leave some stuff (including a certain person's book, la) and take a quick shower and comb my hair as a very nice lady has offered me a hair appointment! While I'm not so anal that I'll wash my hair--it's pretty clean--I cannot go to a salon with snarly hair.
This weekend I must buy tops and pet things. I also must do some cleaning in the apartment. Sunday I'm having brunch and then friends are coming for Super Bowl, for which I am making and buying dips, nothing but dips. It should be pretty excellent.
And next weekend, Duran Duran baby!
