Am sitting in office, listening to the Joint Session of Congress on the radio. They have convened this special session here in New York, down at the Federal Building, where the very first session of the US Congress convened and just blocks away from where the WTC stood.

Am dissolved in tears.

House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt (D-Mo) said in his speech: "The life of a good person is like a wellspring that never runs dry."

It is going to be a long week.

*huggles* Tell me about it. Here at Vassar the administration is doing a memorial thing in the morning and then we just have a normal day. Since there's several hundred kids from NYC here... *sigh*

Just finished a news article about the 20 people who were in the buildings when they collapsed but survived. Am also in tears.

Yes. As I'm not in New York, I know I won't be feeling it as strongly as those of you who are there, though; will be sending thoughts and prayers, anyhow.

Ugh, for once I can say I don't envy you for being in NYC.
