A special part of hell

While I understand the capitalist economic imperative of burglary during the holiday season, and despite its cheap use as a plot point in many very special episodes of bad sitcoms where the gang learns the Ultimate Valuable Lesson of the true meaning of Christmas or some shite, I feel there is a special part of hell reserved for those that break into apartments at this time of year.

So as I can't imagine there is anyone who has me friended and doesn't have CC on their flist, you already know what this is about. Some years back this place was burglarized, but I didn't have a computer at the time, so the only irreplaceable thing I lose was my sense of safety. To this day if I accidently leave a light on when I leave the house I freak myself out when I return. A few weeks ago Cassie was in my apartment and turned on a light I never use and I nearly screamed when I opened the door, even though I knew she would be there. Because when I got back to my apartment that evening, after work, that was how I realized someone had been there--they turned on the weird overhead light just outside the bathroom, which I never use. Well, that and that in unlocking the door I actually locked it, because they left it unlocked, and of course that half my shit was all over the floor because they were looking for my nonexistent jewels.

ETA: What is wrong with this strain of selfish DV fans, who can't stop thinking of their need for new DV long enough to get their head out of arse? Hoping that DV wasn't on the computer that was stolen? As opposed to, say, many many personal things or possibly something original? Never mind Josh's work, or Ruby's? Seriously, what the fuck, people? A pox on you as well!

Re your ETA: I was thinking the exact same thing. First thought was 'FUCK, the original!!' and whatever else was stored, email, neat gifts from friends, stuff like that. And gah, stolen LAPTOPS!! Grrrrr! How anyone can be so incredibly selfish as to ask for DV when Cassie's computers are gone, I will never udnerstand.

Personally I'm still mourning for my first website project that was lost when my laptop was stolen in China. And all the email and poetry on it, seeing as that was the only time I ever wrote poetry and even though it was probably awful, it's still sad to see it all gone.

Laptop thieves should all break out in nasty hives or something.

I just couldn't believe it. You'd think her fangirls, of all people, would stop and think. But that just goes to show: They don't care about her at all, just the story. It's really sad, because that attitude just makes DV a chore instead of a joy and causes all this upset.

It only got worse, as everyone knew it would, which is so tiresome I can't even breathe.

At the end of the day no one asked me for drabble! I'm hoping this is because everyone knows CC and not because no one wants my drabble. I think Sam wrote about 50. OTOH, I did tell them what sort of new lock to get and stayed with Ruby last night so she wouldn't be alone in the apartment.
