And then I listened to the news
Sep. 3rd, 2004 06:05 pmOkay, before I get started on the silly stuff, the important parts:
Chechnya made newscaster Hannah Storm cry this morning, and I don't blame her. And
folk, it would have been the lead on the news this morning, but for Frances, and at the time we didn't even know how bad it was. Every reporter I hear, on NPR and the Washington Post guy who was on the phone to CBS this morning, just sounds exhausted and depressed. Something to be said for losing your objectivity I'd say.
Speaking of Frances, everyone stay safe. Bless
heidi8's little cotton socks for posting so often.
Bill, Bill, Bill, you lose all this weight and now you have to have the surgery? Man. Our thoughts are with you. It was a pleasure to vote for you twice, let me tell you.
The last time I saw Bill, actually, was on the Daily Show. His segment followed a story about those awful Swiftboat Veterans and he was angry, saying in no uncertain terms that the Kerry folks needed to start attacking these guys instead of letting the story fester. Well, as
weatherby once entitled, beware the fury of a patient man, because Kerry has taken the gloves off. He's actually starting to sound sarcastic. The RNC hit him below the belt, and he has had enough. You go, John!
I need to make an icon for the campaign, but the Kerry-Edwards ones freak me out because I keep thinking that it's someone I went to high school with. (You know Kerry Edwards, don't you? Danny's kid sister? Brown hair, freckles, bit of a tomboy?)
Last night
msscribe called and we had the most hilarious conversation about Zell Miller and Mike Castle, and that she's some people's personal bogey man, and that Triosmut just isn't satisfying if there isn't some Harry/Ron action. Which, you know, it isn't.
I keep hearing these reports about undecided voters, and I feel like what they're looking for is someone to fall in love with. Well, let me tell you something, people. That happens once in a generation, and that's it. Voting is a responsibility. Decide what is important to you and vote on those issues. And if you just have no idea what those issues are then seriously, are you an adult?
Man, now I've filled up this post with the important stuff. Okay, the next one will be about pop culture. Promise.
