Ah. Not a napper

It's the sort of Sunday afternoon where many people would like a nap, but as I am not a napper I'm letting D have his nap and I'm here on the computer doing a few things. It's been a nice relaxing time so far, I must say, and my vacation hasn't even really begun—it's only Sunday! Lovely. Lots of driving around in the sunshine, errands run and all of that. Saw Garden State last night and liked it a good deal.
8 things you can't live without: friends, music, art, film, moisturizer, the jolt of the capital, the peace of the countryside, good food.
7 things you're looking forward to: C's arrival tomorrow, the rest of this vacation with C and D, seeing my friend JF this week, my vacation later this fall with P, fall's cooler weather, making a career change, dinner tomorrow.
6 things that make you happy: My cat Veda, singing, seeing friends, riding in a car, good conversation.
5 things that suck: My job, that Veda is so nervous she attacks most of my friends, that friends have to move away, that it's so hard to have a car in NYC, PoTUS.
4 things you do every morning: listen to NPR, eat breakfast, check my email, feed Veda.
3 people you think are hot: Keith on Six Feet Under (Mathew St. Patrick), Linus in Ocean's 11 (Matt Damon) and Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day Off (Alan Ruck).
2 movies that you could watch over and over: Ocean's 11, Philadelphia Story.
1 person you couldn't live without: C.
D made me a breakfast of pancakes and eggs this morning and we ate and read the NYTimes out on his patio. In it was an essay on YA lit in schools that I found interesting though ultimately disappointing because it didn't really go anywhere, but I'm very interested particularly in what
blackholly and
calloocallay think, and wanted to bring it to
pegkerr's attention as well.
ETA: Sadly I am a moron who forgot to put the link in for the essay!
