Somewhere in Bavaria
Jul. 7th, 2004 12:39 amSo, anyway. Thursday I tried to catch up on my sleep but really ended up sort of zombie-ing my way through the day.
Friday morning I went to see my friend S's new baby! (And if you're very clever, you might know why I kept asking her about her pregnancy.) Little Sasha was ten days old when I met him and he sweet as he ought to be. He went for a nap right after I arrived and she and I and her husband sat and had bagels and talked about the PoA movie and the book 6 title (after all, they're the ones who leant me the books in the first place) and any number of other things, and then S said, "OMG, while we're sitting here talking, there's a baby in the next room! :D" She was really cute, herself.
Then it was off to the train station and Rachael "No Sauce Please"
weatherby. After a brief trip to see a man about a dog, sort of, we ate a very late lunch at a diner with actual in-table jukeboxes (the "secret" song was Baker Street which I love love love) and then hit the road to
msscribe's. Sadly we were without AC, but happily we were with beverages, nicotine and a certain tribute mix CD. We got a bit lost and ended up waiting for Dionne in the parking lot of a correctional facility, but you know, just another cigarette break.
Once we were at our destination we collapsed and enjoyed the cool air and the hospitality. And really, that's pretty much all we did all weekend. Watched a lot of I Love the Thirty Million Clip Shows and Snarky Celebrities Play Texas Hold Em. Watched the unedited "Badder Santa". Shopped a lot (I bought three pairs of shoes). Enjoyed the nice weather. Went out for breakfast.
Had a lot of meat at a cookout. Wandered the earth for fireworks. Met a really fun couple (friends of Dionne's) and once again dined out on that grand jury story. Oh yeah, and had a lot of alcohol. It was all good, as visits with Dionne always are.
Monday morning we had to leave Dionneland, sadly, and made our way back to Philly, singing Chicago all the way. We ate another late lunch in Philly, and then I was on the train and back home, and then
maybethemoon came by and stayed, and she's there very nicely flatsitting for me, and hopefully Veda will behave herself.
And that was my weekend, and it was a good one, and now I am away on business. And wow, that
lapin_agile story is really good, isn't it? (Aside: what is it with Harry and Draco on a sailboat? Now I want to write one just to be cute.) And wow, thank god EQ is back because jesus I missed her! Also I might be writing something based on how I can't seem to find the erotica that I want. >:o
