It isn't the same without him, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. *sigh*

Right, so I admit, I was both annoyed and disappointed that Ron's entire explanation of the word "Mudblood" was given to Hagrid of all people in the CoS movie. (I'm also annoyed that TPTB decided based on one explosion and one burnt feather that Seamus is an idiot, because I don't remember seeing that in canon, either. And don't even get me started about the hair.) In canon, Hermione is the source of "official" information, but Ron is the source of colloquial knowledge that Hermione would never have. It's a nice balance.

So yes, I'll be disappointed if they maintain in the film giving another of Ron's little moments in the sun to Hermione. But people. Movies aren't canon. They're a fun excuse to gather together; a resource for icons for rpgs (although, only for the trio and the adults, as most of the other actors are too young to play 16-17) and for shippers and everyone else. But they aren't canon, or suddenly Harry's eyes would be blue and we can't have that.

And if the movies aren't canon, the trailers certainly aren't. I admit, I've never been a trailer squeer. I have only seen them in the cinema before some other film. I'm really excited for the film, believe me, but you know, a trailer lies just like any other ad. There's stuff in trailer that ends up on the cutting room floor, stuff that gets emphasized in the trailer for selling purposes that is barely a blip in the film. Using it to get a sense of how things will look, sure. But honestly--we will see the movie in four weeks. Can you hold on to your freak out until then? Thanks.

In other news, I was a very good boo yesterday and wrote 5 1/2 pages of sequel, and I might not put on the third little bit which is probably just sentimental, and leave it where it is. So that would be the first part of the first part, done, and three more parts to go. ^_^

I've seen my friend's page plastered with comments on the Trailer of Doom. But, I haven't seen it yet, so I have no idea what the hubbub is about. Lucky me, I guess.

I've always been a freak about previews, but nowadays, I realize that they reveal way too much for my liking.

Agreed. Movies aren't canon, but it's nice to see a take on visualizing JK's world. Is it the same way that you imagined it? Did I really see the statue of Salazar Slytherin that way when I read it? Probably not.

To me, it doesn't matter if Harry's eyes are blue, or that Hermione seems to be "the smart one." I love Ron's moments and we know the truth, so it isn't so bad, right?

Hopefully, most of us will remember that come June 4th.

On another note, I'm always happy to see you post, HP-related or not. Cheers, clio.

We so cannot have Harry's eyes be blue! Not after all those "Emerald and Silver" fluff pieces that have come out in the wake of OOTP to warm the cockles of all those people who have cockles, I don't think I do.

Emerald, dude. Sparkling Emerald. Gotta be.
