I had a really annoying week for a variety of reasons, but at least the bad stuff was all front-loaded so whee, weekend. But here are the good things that happened:

Tuesday Cassie and Ali and I met up with [livejournal.com profile] heinous_bitca for pizza and beer and rice pudding and she was a total lovely boo as she always is and it was great to see her!

Last night Cassie, Ali, Ruby and I met up for drinks with [livejournal.com profile] debellatrix and her man, who is as awesome as you know he'd have to be because dude, she is no trifling thing. And to quote Ruby, he seemed pretty vanilla until we got to know him. Also, I want to point out that he was wearing a black mock turtleneck sweater and I don't think he looked gay, so take that, CC. Then we let the couple go to their dinner reservation and we went to Lucky Strike, which I love love love.

Forgot to say that last weekend I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and I highly recommend it. Very highly.

Also, there was a splendid bit of D/G on [livejournal.com profile] hpart recently, hence, icon. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] arabellafiggy, with whom I share, like, a million ships. Speaking of ships, go vote on [livejournal.com profile] ladylisse's poll about trio shipping, won't you?

[livejournal.com profile] blackholly, if you are actually online, I taped American Idol this week. The theme this week was Motown, which always makes me feel like I'm at a wedding, and guest judges Ashford and Simpson added fuckall to the proceedings. (I can't believe Nick Ashford is still working the lame coat. It is not 1985.) Camille sucked and should just go home; I really cannot stand her. Predictably, George, LaToya and Fantasia did fabulous; Diana did well but still isn't connecting with the audience; Jasmine, Jennifer and Amy were fine but a bit bland; and both JPL and John had a real problem finding a key to sing in. I cannot believe that Camille wasn't in the bottom three and LaToya was, and I certainly can't believe Amy was voted off. Next week's theme are songs by Sir Elton. I hope that doesn't curse JPL, as he did a horrible rendition of Tiny Dancer back in the semis (though to be fair, it was also very badly edited so the song didn't have much internal sense). On principle, I am going to vote for all the contestants except Camille so I don't have to listen to her sing again.

Perhaps he did not look gay, but he does write BDSM porn, so there.

I liked Sunshine too, though it was a little irritating. I guess I dont understand why anyone would want to just erase something like that.*shrugs*

So, mind if I ask what vanilla means? lol

Vanilla, in a sexual context, means that you don't engage in much beyond the standard. In other words, we didn't expect him to break out with the fierce knowlege that he had.

Isn't Jules the best? She just has this way of making people feel comfortable around her... when I met her it was like I'd known her all my life. She's also got really good taste in music and tells great stories. Her husband is a real cutie, too. *Gorgeous* hair.

And Vicky is just fun. I love being around her.

I did not know that mock turtlenecks were gay. Fill me in!

CC and I have an ongoing debate. I like men in turtlenecks; I think it looks very 1965 apres ski, especially if the man is fair haired and the turtleneck black, or if the man is Black and the turtleneck cream-coloured.

Cassie thinks only gay men should wear turtlenecks, and that men look gay in them.

Now, granted, the shirt in question was a mock, but still.

Hee, wouldn't you know it, I picked out that shirt for him.

Of course, Dave would not consider it a bad thing to hear that he looked gay (not effeminate), as he thinks that they are the best dressers.
