When I was in first grade, I had a Starsky and Hutch lunchbox. The 70s were a great time for tight jeans, oh my yes, and I had a vague idea that there was something there I was supposed to look at but I was never sure what it was. I had it bad for Starsky; preferred the brunets even then. It wasn't even slashy. It was more like, aww, what a nice gay couple.

Loved the movie. Want the DVD. Will be purchasing it, because the youngsters need to see it. Also, I want lots of 70s TV DVDs, and my beloved C got me the Mary Tyler Moore show for Christmas. I think that's a good theme for my DVD collection: 70s TV shows and 30s-50s romantic comedies. Leave the new stuff to others.

Well, except for Ocean's 11. I've never been to Belize.

I have this urge to collect TV DVDs lately as well. In particular I want the I Love Lucy ones, which are about 100$ for the first season alone. Ridiculous. I am jealous of your MTM though and also your DVD theme.

$100? That is totally crazy.

Yeah, I'm thinking this is a damn good theme, though as with any theme there will be occasional break outs. Possibly whenever they sort out the music rights for Miami Vice that will get added even though it is so very 80s.

*g* Fuuuuun movie. I think I would have liked Starsky in the original series, too, if I'd watched it way back. Actually, I would have been madly in love with them both. I tended to fall for both the serious guy and the suave guy when I was a kid (both Davy and Mike in The Monkees, both Bo and Luke in The Dukes of Hazzard).

Of course, as far as the movie goes, OOooooowen. Yummeh. Both characters were a trip, though. "Cross the line, your nuts are mine." And, Snoop rocked. So FUN. I'm really looking forward to the DVD extras.

I thought, actually, that Ben looked damn good for a change. I loved how Ben's eyes popped, especially when he was in that silly biker gear. And as you know, I'm not a big big fan of Owen because, blond, but I thought that hair looked really good on him.

I was especially glad that they recreated some of their original wardrobe, especially that odd cardigan sweater Starsky was always wearing.

(Entre nous, I am sick to death of movies where Ben is put upon and unhappy. I don't find that sort of comedy amusing in the least. I only could deal with Meet the Parents because there were some other things going on. So it's nice to see him closer to Zoolander than to Duplex.)
