So I've been putting stuff onto the ipod, and right now on MTV2 Dashboard Confessional are doing a concert of covers from Automatic for the People. I hope they don't sing Everybody Hurts. I hope they do sing Find the River. (oop, they are showing a little preview and of course they're playing Everybody Hurts.) And the ironic thing is, my copy won't rip onto my ibook. It wouldn't last night and it won't even mount now. It's vexing.

I just watched a show about the Pixies and now I'm annoyed that I do not own the albums, but only have Surfer Rosa and Doolittle on a tape from C. Do any of you have it for me to listen to? Moony? Josh? I remember those records coming out when I was in college, in Boston, and they were all over WFNX. I didn't realize at the time how ubercool and influential they were. If man is five . . .

Ooh, they ARE playing Find the River, cool.

Also, I changed my car, as the first one was lame.

Sadly, my Pixies situation is rather similar to yours except that I have no idea where that tape might be -- in my usual vein of not buying CDs new, except for gifts and obscure things, I have been keeping an eye out for Pixies stuff at Ye Local Record Shoppe but have found only Bossanova, which hasn't been enough of a priority to get.

But. I do have Doolittle sitting here in my iTunes. I do not have it on the CD rack, you understand, but it is here in my iTunes. So certainly it could wend its way to your ears at some point...
