I just wanted to draw your attention to the very polite and intelligent debate currently in
orangewatcher's lj. Whether you agreed or not with my post about labels, go here for the counterpoint. Particularly those of you that recently friended me from
folk's link—you all should read the other side of the issue.
Edit: Oops, I've been told that my previous post was actually irrelevant, so I'm thinking this one is as well. Actually, they probably all are and I have no business having an LJ, really. Boy, am I blushing now. I'm like, pointless and absurd, completely unimportant, and don't really have a place in this fandom. Silly me!
New edit: Yes, I switched the cuts. As you were.

Date: 2003-10-14 08:18 am (UTC)I'm beginning to realize that the experience I had at school, and you likely did to, was of all of these people challenging you on your beliefs, making you think about why you feel the way you do. I'm surprised at the tons and tons of people in fandom--especially those in college--who haven't had that experience. So you challenge them and they get 35 kinds of freaked out--how dare you question me, etc. As though you're attacking them, when you're not. Gah.
