First, wow. Like,
we_love_clio? I was TOTALLY surprised, I can't tell you how pleased I am, and, well, thanks so much. I'm answering everyone over there, but again, thanks.
Also, thanks to everyone who sent their good wishes on their LJs! And the texts! Thank you!
I woke up and finally cleaned my apartment, including chucking nearly everything in my fridge and freezer, but luckily I had been running around so much that I didn't lose a ton of food. My brother called from the road--he was taking my nephew back for his sophomore year at college--to wish me a happy birthday which was pretty swell.
Then Ruby, birthday girl herself, and Cassie, injured but in reasonably good spirits nevertheless, came over and we made ourselves a bit of lunch and vegged out in front of I Love the 70s, which was a memory trip for me and a festival of new knowledge for them. Val came by and dropped off my best present of the day, Veda, a very curious cat who proceeded to jump on top of my fridge. She pushed her way into nearly every nook and corner of my rather small flat, but I think now she feels a bit more at home. She seems to like the back of the couch.
Then we went to Revolution for noodle, missing Jaida due to her prior committments. While Cassie visited with out-of-town family, Ruby and I walked over to Magnolia and picked up some birthday cupcakes and came back to Union Square, and the three of us ate our cake under the stars. It was a gorgeous night. The pull of the Virgin megastore was too strong to resist, and I spent some of the birthday money my parents sent me on a cd.
Today, w00t! Ali comes home! Hurrah!
