so I'll try this thing!
Oct. 22nd, 2010 01:06 pmSo this week has been pretty tough, in a very isolating way, with the lovely response to my RPF BB the main bright spot (as well as a few other things). And rather than despair into my work (paid, that is), and despite it being Friday when there's sort of no one around, I thought I would put up an open post and see what I caught!
What are you all up to?
I'm going to a tumblr meet up on Saturday, and perhaps out with some people later tonight, and last night after reading a secret about Yusuf and then some meta about him I came up with a whole Inception Vegas AU that I might write after I've finished some other things. Hopefully the fandom will not be dead by the time I get to writing that, because it's Yusuf/Ariadne, not Arthur/Eames.

Your comment, it is full of riches!

Date: 2010-10-22 10:19 pm (UTC)I'm definitely doing Nano: I won in '08 and kind of petered out in '09. For although I do like writing longhand, which I tried last year, it's also rather tiring, and for a contest that's based on reaching a certain word count it's annoying to have to count anything from 400-500 words a page. I'm planning on writing a bit every day in my DW during November, and the only people I've really mentioned it to so far are my fellow nano-ers.
Striped tights are my novel theme because my novel, which largely takes place in Paris in the 1940s, features zazous, and the ladies of that subculture wore striped tights. Team those with a short skirt, red lipstick, whatever I can find that approximates heavy shoes and my, um, black Hello Kitty umbrella, and that's the fashion they were into (minus the giant Sanrio endorsment).
I'll have to take a photo of myself in this getup.
Have you ever done Nanowrimo? I find it exhilarating.

Date: 2010-10-22 10:59 pm (UTC)Tomorrow I might get my fringe trimmed, because it's getting in my eyes. I'm also going to think about my Halloween party and do an inventory of all the drinks I have/need. Then on Sunday I'm having either lunch or dinner with Mr Fabulous and there will probably be some reading and tea-drinking in between all that.
But for now I'm going to bed because I need sleeeeeeeep.

Date: 2010-10-23 01:07 am (UTC)I think I'm going to be some kind of fairy princess nymph thing for Halloween. I have a floaty blue dress and just need the right makeup and maybe some cheap jewelry.

Date: 2010-10-23 01:11 am (UTC)Mangoes are indeed kind of a pain to deal with and you do need quite a sharp knife, though if it's very ripe and the skin is thin you can just bite into it, as long as you mind the pit.
I go back and forth between writing longhand and writing on the computer. I find that often the story dictates where it wants its draft to go.
