alert to the fashionistas: Costume Institute-ing!

One hot day this summer, I want to head to the Brooklyn Museum for their exhibit American High Style and then to the Met for the related exhibit, American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. They're both on view from next week until the first of August. We can use the 45 minutes or so on the 4 train in between to picnic!

When I saw this I thought of you and Stella and Kari pretty immediately. A day of fashion to beat the heat! It should be fun.

I'm definitely planning on going to both, but the idea of both in one day is kind of terrifying.

While I could make a day of the Brooklyn Museum, I only really go to the Costume Institute at the Met. I'm more of a MoMA girl. Anyway I kind of like that fuzzy museum head you get at the end of the day.
