Don't you love it when you're working on something and you finally realize what's been throwing the pacing off, so you take it out and put it in the scrap box and the piece is tons better?

- I have two extra ribs, at the top near my shoulder blades. Sometimes I sit wrong and one will cut off the feeling to my arm, which is how I found out about it.
- I'll eat most things, except: pineapple, pear, coffee, organ meats, cooked carrots, savory coconut, and really bitter greens. But the first food I remember eating is steamed clams, and my favorite foods are duck, sweet potatoes, green beans, and rhubarb pie.
- I was born in Maine and lived there until I went away to college.
- I was cross-racially adopted, and because I'm black I was hard to place. For that reason I cannot go to animal shelters or pet stores that have animals; it's too upsetting.
- I love my friends' dogs, and the family of my close friend growing up had four labs in their ranch house so I'm used to big dogs too. But strange dogs make me nervous and I frequently cross the street to avoid people walking their dogs.
- When I eat anything that comes in varieties, I try to eat all the kinds evenly. If it's a bag of candy like gummi bears or m&ms I'll pour them all out, sort by color, eat the leftovers until the colors are all even, and then eat the rest evenly. My friend D endeared himself to me when he asked for some of my gummi bears, immediately saw what I'd been doing, and assured me that he'd eat one of each color.
- Since I moved out on my own, I've only owned white cats (three so far). I didn't choose any of these cats—they all came to me from people who couldn't keep them anymore—so maybe I'm just destined to have white cats.
