God, it feels longer even than it did last year for some reason. When I was first thinking about the semis this year, I wondered how we would get from 36 to 12. Now I wonder how we even found 12, because so many of these people lost their damn way, didn't they? I think we're going to end up with maybe two, three people who got robbed, in the end.
See what I meant last week about Ryan's shoulders looking broader in a button down? I'm also pro Ryan trying to put a garter on Simon's head, or really Simon's anything.
I'm voting for Ju'not, Nathaniel and Lil.

- Von, "You're All I Need to Get By." He was good, but I didn't get the suit—was he trying to look like Ellen? I just sort of don't care about him, somehow.
- Taylor, "If I Ain't Got You." That was, hmm, not quite right I think.
- Alex, "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues." I'm so confused by that performance.
- Arianna, "The Winner Takes It All." Clio: "Well, she's finding her way into the song now, I think." Ali: "Yeah, but she keeps finding her way out of it."
- Ju'not, "Hey Delilah." Didn't he sing this Hollywood Week? Not that his version of it isn't completely awesome.
- Kristen, "Gimme One Reason." Full disclosure: I've never liked this song much. But even that said, the arrangement was too big and too Vegas for her, and as Kara implied, there was dissonance between the song, her look, and what her songs probably should be.
- Nathaniel, "I Would Do Anything for Love." Whatever, Simon, we loved it. And he sounded good!
- Felicia, "No One." So that was very competent, and she was better than a lot of the other women that we've heard, certainly.
- Scott, "Mandolin Rain." I guess he really wants to be Bruce Hornsby, is what he's saying? I mean, do you really want to sing a song on Idol that's been played in a thousand grocery stores—at least, before they force you to?
- Kendall, "This One's for the Girls." Hmm, find your key, honey. Oddly, the verse was pretty good but the chorus was sort of all over the place.
- Jorge, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me." So, that was fine, whatever.
- Lil, "Be Without You." I would certainly rather listen to her singing for the next however many weeks than pretty much any of the other women in the competition. I agree with Simon that she actually sounds too much like Mary J to have chosen a Mary J song. But I thought she was quite good.
I'm voting for Ju'not, Nathaniel and Lil.
