And suddenly there's a theme? wtf? But at least they ditched the stupid parents thing, likely at Ryan's request. Kara's working out really well, isn't she?
Ryan looks slim and fantastic, but I'd rather him in a button down than a polo shirt because button downs make his shoulders look broader, and make his chest look more muscular. Polos can just make him look small, if boyish. Oh, and apparently Ryan does the Cold Hearted Snake. [insert your own Rymon joke here]
If last week was about being not-good, tonight was about being not-interesting.
I voted for Nick a billion times.

- Jasmine, "Love Song." I sang this song at karaoke last week and it's harder to do than it sounds. However, that's no excuse for whateverthehell that was. Um, no.
- Matt, "Viva la Vida." What? Kara was 100% right; you can't sing the hell out of that song, because what Chris does isn't really singing, but presenting a song.
- Jeanine, "This Love." Again, no, no, no. Just, no. Wrong song, oversung, no.
- Nick, "And I Am Telling You." God, how fantastic was this shit? Seriously!! "I'm not livin' without Doogie"?? How can we have a season without him? I have never backed the crack candidate in the past, but I fucking adore him. And also? The way he will weirdly participate in Simon and Ryan's bizarre shit? And what Jacob will say about him over at TWoP? I voted for him I don't even know how many times via text, and Ali couldn't even get through on the phone.
- Allison, "Alone." Can we stop singing this please? She really rushed the verse, but the chorus was pretty good (though she sounded like she's blown out her voice singing this all week, so she's going to have to watch that in future). Good stagecraft and a great personality, though. Judges sure liked her but I'm on the fence.
- Kris, "Man in the Mirror." He certainly is cute, and will be slashbait if he makes it. I hate this song, and his type rarely touches me, so I don't care, but I thought he was perfectly fine.
- Megan, "Put Your Records On." Like many others, I'm geeking out over the type design. I'm not sure she knows who she is quite yet. Simon was right about the song getting a little shouty toward the end. I would be perfectly happy for her to get through.
- Matt, "If You Could Only See." I find I don't care about this in any way, and that makes me sad.
- Jesse, "Bette Davis Eyes." Great song choice, and I seriously almost voted for her just for that, and that she pulled it off. But I'm not sure Idol is the place she should be, somehow. I don't know. I think she's actually too interesting for Idol.
- Kai, "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted." Simon was right: good, but uninteresting. Cute though.
- Mishavonna, "Drops of Jupiter." I am not fond of this song; I find it a bit overwrought. So I'm down with Simon's point that she's a little overserious for Idol.
- Adam, "Satisfaction." I don't know how I feel about this. It was cheesy and ridiculous and awesome all at once. Usually I like that, so I think it's just that I wasn't expecting it. It doesn't matter because the idolfangirls love love love him, and I would be shocked if he's not in on the first ballot.
I voted for Nick a billion times.

Date: 2009-02-26 07:27 am (UTC)Idk why but I almost ALWAYS type "Nick Marshall" but I know that that's the dude from What Women Want. So confusing, self.
Ugh I hope Nick makes it. He needs the vote cause they'll NEVER put him as a wild card.

Date: 2009-02-26 06:08 am (UTC)Of the others, I liked Allison, Megan, and Jesse all right, and I must admit to being fully on board the Adam Lambert train. I wasn't sure about that song choice, but I love hearing him sing and want to hear more.
Now, to attempt to reach an open phone line.

Date: 2009-02-28 03:45 am (UTC)No sooner were the words out of his mouth than a dozen Simon comebacks that NO ONE SAID OUT LOUD (why didn't anyone? why are they so lame?) flashed through my head.
