[livejournal.com profile] aethelflaed2 and I had [livejournal.com profile] oneangryrabbit, [livejournal.com profile] ali_wildgoose and [livejournal.com profile] emsariel for a Top Chef dinner, where we gathered to watch and eat roast chicken with E's lovely red miso marinade, plus roasted potatoes, steamed bok choy with ginger-soy-balsamic and melon with lime and mint for dessert. Yum! We watched Idol first (more on that later) and then moved on to Top Chef.

The group reaction to the results: ARGH! Very loudly, from all five of us.

My personal reaction to the result: I refused to watch it after they announced it and in fact was in the kitchen only listening. Then I came into my room, where I had the entire season saved on my DVR, and deleted them all. This isn't as bad as Ilan, but almost. Crappy capper to a crappy season. I'm super sad for Carla, and I would have been happy if Stefan had won, but Hosea is a douchebag. I don't know if I'll even watch the reunion show (I also hate Andy) but I'm glad that at least Carla will clearly win fan favorite.

My healing method: [livejournal.com profile] honestys_easy made a Carla mood theme! You can download it here, with all instructions, but be sure to credit her!

I was so upset when I realised that Carla had screwed herself :( As soon as the souffle was ruined, I knew. Sigh. And it seems as though that is the universal opinion, too - and I honestly think that they may have just chosen Hosea because Stefan was so arrogant... He seemed to rub them the wrong way. But, that's just my opinion!

Ugh, i was quite upset with the win but mostly because I think Hosea is ridiculously douchey, which is a bad reason for me not to want him to be the best chef, but I don't think he's that, either. I completely understand that after that meal Carla should not have won, but I still didn't want Hosea to win. I think Stefan showed a lot more of himself in his dishes, giving that second dish that was all about "this is what my family has made for 40 years" and he rounded out his meal with a dessert. I also wanted Stefan to win just because he was such a sweetie pie when Carla started crying at judging.

Edited because Sokka needed to show his displeasure with the results in icon form.

I'm not happy either. And when Carla started to cry and Stefan comforted her and started to cry himself, I was like, "This is the supervillain stupid Hosea whined so much about?" I hated him when they went back into the stew room and, as Carla cried and Stefan comforted her, smug Hosea sat on the couch and said, "Whatever, I made my food." What an ass and a sore winner. He was lucky he had Richard.

Hosea is the least satisfying winner since Ilan and Ilan was only in the bottom three twice while Hosea got called out four times. Unworthy as hell! The most frustrating thing is that the finale had awesome things like the team up of Stefan and Marcel and Stefan being sweet to Carla and it still ended up being the most infuriating episode ever.

The only positive thing is that I have to give the editors credit for playing it straight. As much as I hate the result, it was clearly a fair judgement and I can understand the judges' decision. I'm so used to the show jerking me around that, although all the scenes indicated otherwise, I still held out hope that Hosea didn't win.

God, how depressing was that? It was like ending the season with a big raspberry. I loved Carla so much. I think she's going to get a lot of good things from the show, though. I noticed she won the audience poll for who they wanted to win.
