You guys? I have never been able to fill up the icons but I am just one icon away—or really, I AM full once I upload one of these beauties.

I posted this week about having this nice icon of Simon whispering in Ryan's ear and wanting the opposite. So the excellent consumedbywords sent me screencaps of Ryan whispering in Simon's ear the other week, and I have made three icons of it because I can't quite decide which crop I like best. Like all decisions I cannot make, I'm doing a poll! Also, anything you'd like to say in the comments would be helpful.

1. That off-center look that all the kids are doing. I kind of like the random light you can see in the opposite corner, too. Con: it looks a little like a manip, though it totally isn't!




2. Super close up! I like this because for me this pic is really about how their hair is almost touching. Con: The same manip problem, and the image might be a little blurry—maybe the crop should be a little looser?




3. Traditional look. Probably what I would have done without thinking. Ryan looks less like he might have been thunked in from some other picture, and you get more of Simon's chest which, you know, isn't all bad.

I´d go with the third, because of what you said, it doesn't look like a manip, and Simon's chest is always a good thing *g*

I think that might have been my fave Rymon moment this season, especially when Simon went all "No I will not!" Heee ;)

I like one because the focus seems best, and I'd do a diagonal slash of color right across the tops of their heads so it would look less manip, more mod. Will do up an example after I go to the market if you'd like.

One looks like floating heads in a sea of black and two looks blurry. I guess I'd go with three but maybe with some color corrections or a background or something.

Color corrections like what? My icon making skills are not deep; my color corrections only go as far as autocontrast or whatever. What would a background be?

Generally when I make icons for myself I just sort of crop a picture and futz to a very small degree and leave it at that. Anything more advanced I'd probably have to ask ali_wildgoose to do on a weekend that was not New York Comic Con.
