David Archuleta, "Another Day in Paradise." David is a very sincere young man. He wants you to understand him. It was a little flat, by which I mean, it didn't really go anyplace. (He should have sung "Susudio.")

Danny Noriega, "Tainted Love." He continues to irritate me. Also, nobody says "bitch please" to my Ryan. NOBODY!

David Hernandez, "It's All Coming Back to Me." Well, now I know why he thinks he's so hot. And certainly why he chose a Celine song. He's certainly a good singer, but I continue to not care. Ali feels it would have been improved by an interpretive dance.

Michael Johns, "Don't You Forget About Me." What the shit was that? That sucked. Simon, why didn't you tell him it sucked? Why do you let me down, baby?

David Cook, "Hello." That fucking ruled me. However, now all I can think, thanks to ziggy1278, is that he has thinning emo hair.

Jason Castro, "Hallelujah." CHAD!* Support your local drummer, dude!

Chikezie, "All the Woman I Need." First, yes, Simon, Luther did this song, and frankly, as much as I love you I'm tired of how much old R&B you don't seem to know. But it's a tough song to sing, and I thought Chikezie did a good job.

*Chad is an original character in an Avatar fic co-written by ali_wildgoose, to whom Mr. Castro bears a strong resemblance. Chad is awesome, and so is Jason.

I voted for Jason and David Cook.

OK, not only did no one call Michael Johns on sucking, but did Randy seriously imply that this it was an INXS song? Cause Simple Minds may have been popular in Australia before this song, but they're a Scottish band, and it certainly didn't feature Michael Hutchence!

For all the name-dropping, name-checking, and quibbling over who sang what when, they seriously piss me off sometimes when they're just fucking stupid.

I'm willing to say that David Cook might be the person I like for no good reason, because there's always one. But a lot of this show is about song choice, about how you package yourself and how you work the themes, so in that sense I think Simon was right in that he made an interesting choice to do that song. If he keeps doing that, he'll avoid a lot of trouble and stick around for a while.

If Jason is smart he won't cut his hair, because that's half of how people know who the hell he is. He feels like the Elliott of this season, the dark horse that people like more and more as we go, and having a shoe-in like David A makes those dark horses even more appealing.

If Danny is the person from this season who's around way too long really, that's sort of okay, because it isn't his singing I hate but his attitude.

ha. yes. and it's normal at his age, of course. but it makes him the kind of singer my mother loves who does not interest me. josh groban, you know? there's no irony, there's no sex. (not that i want there to be sex with him, but you know what i mean. if *i* were 17 there wouldn't be sex.) i have no doubt blake was all why-is-the-world-full-of-pain at that age, but you KNOW there was also some nascent kink.

i too voted for david cook and castro. david knocked me out, as i've been waiting for him to do, despite the hair. and jason gets mad points just for picking that song, and he did it well.

Luke was pretty meh. I can see him singing on a cruise ship. But he looks like Orly, so...will miss that :P
