But before I start, last night ziggy1278 and I saw You Kill Me and I highly recommend it. Wednesday, Live Free or Die Hard! Yay!

Let me share with you a few Rymon moments, and everyone else can just scroll on by. Btw, more fic to come in a moment.

• So I was watching E! while eating my breakfast this morning and the crawl tells me that the first American Idol auditions will be on July 30! So that's just another five weeks of separation for the boys. Yay!
  
• I was watching the American Idol Rewind (season one again, yawn) and you know when Ryan is wearing the transparent shirt and Simon teases him about matching underwear and Ryan tells him to stop checking him out? They cut it! Sheesh!
  
• Every time I read any AI slash with Ryan or Simon in it that isn't Rymon I want to write more Rymon/Cake just to prove that Simon isn't evil and Ryan isn't pathetic, that Simon is actually kind of a softy and Ryan is capable of inspiring lust in another person, no really. I just want to reach into the stories and hug them both. I'm so OTP.

The weather here is sort of gross, hazy though not that hot, and it has sapped my appetite, which in turn has sapped my energy. Feh.

Also, this is kind of irrelevant, but I'm sitting in Crispers right now, and "I Fought the Law" is playing over the speakers, and it's obviously, you know, the actual song, but I desperately want it to be the AI version that the top 9 recorded this season for the Ford video because I'm getting visions of Chris Rich in a cowboy hat and it's making the finishing off of this Peanut Butter Explosion dessert extremely difficult.

Dude, I totally love Nigel! He's awesome! I mean, sure, he may have had to have had a few sit-down-let's-talk talks with Cake, but the poor guy had to deal with all the PR stuff. It's Simon Fuller who's the mean one. *nods*

Ugh, I know. So was Blake! Which was kind of unnerving. I was like, "ARE YOU NEVER NOT HOT, BLAKE?! WHY?!"

The fact that they cut the boys' indecent see-through shirt flirting on Idol Rewind kind of bewitches me, in the same way that the Rymon section being cut from People.Com's What You Didn't See does. I mean, it was there and then it wasn't! Come on!

The Cakers are convinced that Cake's not being included in "AI Buddies" the way that Chris and Ace were last year confirms that TPTB are worried about how Cake looks. I just wonder why they aren't worried about how Rymon looks; in fact, there's been like, piles of press about Rymon this year.

I mean, I know that they have to cut some things out of the show to fit in all the "now" interviews and the results tag, but still.

Can I also just say, that earlier this week Ryan was wearing a purple shirt on E!News with no jacket and I nearly had a heart attack. He really shoud do that more often because I forget that he has shouders. The jackets make him look smaller. Also his constant teasing of Giuliana about her baby bump rumors is awesome. They're so Brenda and Brendan.

do you think they trust rymon not to go beyond a certain point, while cake is an unknown quantity? the differences in age, industry experience, investment in the brand are great. that would be my guess, at least.

btw, i just saw you mention sondheim on cf, and i'm giggling, because i found a thing on youtube of kat, younger and curvier, doing sondheim, specifically "you could drive a person crazy." these people begin to fic themselves.

I think that's definitely true, but I'm not sure that it's that they know they won't go past a certain point but more that it sort of doesn't matter even if they do. Nigel is a Rymon shipper actually. I also think it's more that there are so many rumors about Ryan in the American press, and Simon in the English press, that they just can't control it anyway. And given that both Ryan and Simon's basic attitudes about gay rumors is "say what you want"—I mean, they're not even that testy anymore—it's like that horse has left the barn. Once "just fuck already" has become a joke on SNL there isn't a whole lot you can do. Or even, once they started the very first semifinal show with gay sexual banter, hiring on Ryan as the sole host Nigel knew what he was going to get. So I think he just wants to make money off it at this point. (Also note that Ryan really was a seriously unknown quantity six years ago, even if Simon wasn't.)

Kat is such a broadway baby, of course she was singing sondheim. I'm sure that girl can sing "sam you made the pants too long."

Well, I should say, "not that I know of" as I was adopted. However, given that my parents were my foster parents before they were my adoptive parents, I think they would have known if I had a twin, and in fact, I think that we probably both would have come home with them, and been equally unspoken for. So, no, although there are a lot of people with my hair and my eyes, which can make them look like me, I think, as I'm really just hair and eyes.

Do you listen to Ryan on the radio at all? I get to catch the show on Wednesday mornings and it's funny to hear him come up with ways to bring up America's Got Talent from the night before.

From the sound of it(from the interview with Simon) Ryan came close to being on the show in some capacity. That would have been interesting. I'd kind of like to see Ryan as a judge on a show like AGT. Something tells me he'd be on the bitchy side. And wasn't he supposed to be a judge on AI originally? I remember reading that.

Ryan also brought up how Simon wanted him to come to the UK to work. I'm guessing for The X-Factor. That would have been fun, although we'd have to download the episodes over here.
