Drabbles and a beta request

• Top 7: The Sweetheart Rides the Rodeo Again. In which Ryan proves he's an expert in Simon management.
  
• Top 7 Results: Bitter Turns to Sugar. In which Ryan shows which of Simon's many moods he prefers.

I'm sorry, guys, but the more I thought about the fight in the top 7 performance show the more I felt that Ryan wasn't really mad, so there's less angry/makeup sex as there is a reference to such. Actually, I've noticed that Ryan, really, is like this rodeo clown that trots out to distract Simon-the-bull from the riders (singers) when things get a little too dangerous. I don't know why I never thought of this before; perhaps because Joe R gets so annoyed with it and refers to it as Ryan just being contrary to Simon. But the more I think about it, the more I think it's really Ryan trying to keep Simon from being really nasty to the singers by taking the nasty on himself, and he does it all the time.

All that said, I ended up converting anxiety about my paper into a fic inspired by some excerpts posted from Simon's book, and my usual Rymon beta, the excellent ladyjaida, is as stressed by end of term as I am, so while I'm sending it to her as a treat, I'm not asking her to beta. Dana, Meg, interested?

Y'know, that never really occurred to me about Ryan, but now it's like . . . an epiphany, and wow, that makes so much sense. It was really, really apparent last week, on account of Simon being thisclose to actually going into hysterics.

Oh, Ryan. He just keeps making me love him more and more.

And oh, new fic! I'm definitely looking forward to it. :D

That's a very, very true observation about Ryan. I was instantly happy and relieved when he came out on stage during the Top 7 show to stop Simon because I was like, "Oh my gosh, symptahy votes, what are you doooing?!" And then Ryan was just so expert at turning that around. :-)

It makes me think about all their other tiffs so differently! You can really tell when Ryan is actually pissed off and when he's not, because then he just stands there not reacting as if to say, "Are you done? No? Bring it, I can take it."
