I need to get up early tomorrow so I'm keeping this results post short and sweet. The group song, "Joy to the World" was as Tim Gunn would say, a hot mess.

I forgot how people who absolutely suck get this weird pity vote and stick around forever, pissing everyone else off. Nick wasn't a surprise, and I never thought AJ would make it to the finals. Even though Sanjaya sucked I'm not surprised that a ton of people voted for him. Alaina, as my friend S____ said, looks batshit insane anyway. I'm really sad that Leslie is gone, but again, I never thought she'd make it to the finals, especially after Gina's performance this week. But that Antonella is still there is seriously wrong.

Next week, I'm voting a straight line of the black girls and Gina, seriously. As for the boys, eh, I don't know. Chris S and Brandon and Blake, and Jared for no real reason, and maybe Phil or Chris R. I'm so sure that Sundance will make it into the finals and continue to piss me off.

I actually don't think VFTW really moves any serious voting. I think it's just their way of making a comment on AI and how until really the last 4 weeks there are a lot of crappy singers hanging around just because they have some bizarre appeal. The judges keep saying it's a singing competition but for most people it's a personality contest.

I liked how Ryan was all, "Did you spend your money on anything else?"

I feel somewhat sorry for them, though, (well, not Antonella because I hate her) when they get stuck on the show and know that other, better, singers are getting sent home. Remember, I think three years ago when that poor kid (John?) could not get voted off to save his life and he just looked so relieved when it finally happened? Oh yeah, that's when Jennifer Hudson got voted off and he stayed on and it was so bad. I heard he got death threats...

YES! He sang Sinatra songs frequently. And he looked like a George, but I'm not sure if that's right either...

The poor thing had to stand up there week after week in the bottom two and get criticized by Simon. I guess he could've quit, but that seems even more humiliating.

John was the red-haired Sinatra singer. George was the sweet black soul singer who was the last man to go that year. And yeah, Simon hated him. But the funny thing is, if you become Simon's punching bag then a lot of people vote for you because they feel bad. It's when Simon becomes indifferent, when he's decided that you are not listening to what he says and he doesn't know why you're still there and he doesn't even bother, that you're gone. (EG, "chicken little" last year; as soon as Simon threw up his hands, he got voted off.)

John was the red-haired kid who wanted to be Michael Bublé. George was the really nice black soul singer who was the last man to go. And OMG how Simon hated John. (Which is why it's so odd that there is all this RPS with John in it; I have no idea why the fangirls liked to slash him so much.)
