Okay, it now officially pisses me off that we have had no snow. It has snowed west of here, north of here, south of here and even east of here, but not here, and I'm pretty fucking furious.
Studio 60 is pissing me off, man. I mean, I had a vague hope after the Christmas show because Danny was sort of adorable, but now he's just an annoying stalker, and the preview indicates that Jordan was only putting up a fuss because, as Miss Alli at TWoP says, women don't really know what they want. Meanwhile, Matt and Harriet will never stop fighting about Christianity and the whole thing will never stop being tiresome. Whatever. I'll leave it on the TIVO because they will finish out the season, then I'll chalk it up as a show that really should have been enjoyable, and easily could have been if Sorkin didn't have the desperate need to show us how right he is about everything all the time. (And I didn't even say anything about the heavy handed reality TV stuff and the board of directors bullshit. Talk about NBS not being NBC!)
I'm dubious about mysteries of the week (MOTW) on Veronica Mars being its future, but I'm willing to work through this season, again, to see how it works. However, the crazy on again off again-ness of Veronica and Logan is as tiresome as anything on Studio 60 and if VM can't get over her trust issues I will beat her about the head with a manilla folder.
I didn't watch the actual state of the union because whatever, we all know what he's going to say. But I did enjoy all the footage of Nancy Pelosi hanging out refusing to applaud. I thought the Democratic response was pretty good, actually, but I don't actually have a huge problem with centrism, mostly because it's a centrist country, folks, and I thought it was very good on a symbolic level, which is all the state of the union is about anyway.

Date: 2007-01-24 11:43 pm (UTC)I had such hopes, SUCH HOPES for the Jordan/Danny arc after the Christmas episode (although, man, Sorkin, find another Christmas song to use in your work, please), and then, as you say, he became scary stalker man. This episode sucked for me (apart from the Jack/Zhang thing, which I thought was kind of cute, although if they don't start pronouncing Zhang's name right I may do a violence), and the HO HO WOMEN WITH BUNS IN THE OVEN EAT A LOT HO HO HO thing is getting on my tits too. I can't help but wonder if Sorkin's a one-show guy, and West Wing was it.
BTW, I have started watching Boston Legal and am loving it. I especially like William Shatner, who plays William Shatner very well indeed. Plus, random hot guys, and Guest Stars You Must Know. David E. Kelley has redeemed himself for Ally McBeal, I think.
