I tried to take the fandom archetype test, but I realized that none of the answers sounded like me. am freak. Also, I hate quizzes where they don't let you see all the answers. But this is a fucking riot. I didn't put up my result because (a) it was really easy to cheat and (b) I couldn't decide whether to be Cassie, Aja, Alex or Ivy, so I just answered randomly so I could get to the results page. I will say that I don't find Aja's LJ to be unreadable; you just need a working knowledge of modern musical theater.
However, can we please stop kidding ourselves? I know that I vast chunk of the slash in this fandom is H/D, but can we please not use "Slash" if we are only talking about H/D? There are plenty of other popular and not quite as popular pairings, you know. I mean, you could have put Khirsah in there or something. Sheesh. I am so clearly never going to be a quiz answer. ::sigh of t00by pain:: Or maybe:
"You are Clio, mysterious and snarky friend of fandom cognoscenti. You have had your fic recommended on the Guns & Handcuffs even though there aren't enough conversations between Harry and Draco for subtext, much less actual slashyness. You have a reputation for being a major shipper, but since your ship is Seamus/Dean, no one really cares."

Date: 2002-10-20 05:53 pm (UTC)I care, I care deeply. And I will also never be an quiz answer, although I guess if we really wanted to we could make up a quiz for which we'd be the answers.
Hmmm . . . the non-H/D HP-slash quiz ... hmm.

Date: 2002-10-21 11:05 am (UTC)But I don't think you'll have to. You'll be an answer, it's only a matter of time:
"You are Nancy, writer of Malfoy, PI, which ended up being much less of an AU than everyone thought when it started. You have upended the moral dilemna inherent in H/D, thereby annoying less discriminating slashers. You are also, unrelatedly, quite a singer."
What I'm saying isn't so much that I'm obscure; I can live with that for me personally as a writer very happily. I certainly don't want, say, Cassie's or Alex's spotlights. What I was pissed off about was that there is no chance that I would ever be anything but obscure, because I'm not writing H/D. The hegemony of H/D is what is getting me down, not my own obscurity. I mean, never mind SF/DT--not even a SB/RL writer? A SS/HP? A PW/OW? The word "slash" should not be shorthand for H/D.
