Summer is winding down! Let's talk TV.
Aug. 17th, 2006 12:28 pmDonyelle made me CRY last night! She was just so fabulous really throughout the competition. I couldn't believe she picked that Hairspray number as her favorite, though. I'm super looking forward to the tour, as all my favorite dancers are in the top 10. I'm really satisfied with the outcome, because it's clear that even though he didn't win, Travis made a huge impression and will be just fine. I think I'm going to put all my favorite numbers on a tape before I slide them off the TIVO.
I haven't posted about PR in almost a month!
Losers: I was kind of "whatever" about the last few eliminations, to be honest, though I was sad about Bradley because he was so wonderfully spacey. I was very sad to see Allison go though I thought that she and Vincent were definitely getting the loser's edit during the show. I was so scared last week that I had to ff through the judging to make sure the beloved Robert didn't go. Ack! I'm glad he was back in the safe middle this week.
Winners: I'm lucky to live here in New York because every week the winning dress is displayed on a mannequin in one of the Macy's windows with the previous weeks' winners hanging up behind it. It's really fun to be able to see the dresses in person. I think due to their quick construction, they look a little bit like costumes, unfinished slightly the way costumes can be because they will only be seen on a stage. Because of that I'm even more disappointed that Jeffrey didn't win this week. I think he's a pompous ass, and I love Michael, but Jeffrey's dress was more interesting to me so I wish he'd won. However, I was jumping up and down cheering in my apartment when Michael won last week, as I'd been cheering since he got Pam Grier. Uli doesn't really affect me either way but her dog dress was adorable, especially with her sense of prints. Kayne owned the Miss USA one in the way that Michael owned Pam Grier, so that was another satisfying win. And Angela, really, whatever; she owed that win to Michael and Laura.
Speaking of which, how horrible was it that Vincent and Laura were being catty when Allison needed to say goodbye? You've got to love Kayne and Robert for putting a stop to that (though I admit I'm not sure what they have against Laura). Ugh, Keith, though. He was so whiny and arrogant and insufferable. Whatever with his cheating, seriously. If we have to watch Vincent and Allison up until the end, that will be irritating. But thank got Kors is back.
Anyone going to watch Simon's celebrity duets thing? Anyone excited about any of the new fall shows? I'm sort of underwhelmed, and also, I really don't want to pick up any new shows!
