Here's what's on my TIVO for the season. Other than CSI and Veronica Mars which you already know about, I'm watching three sitcoms and a reality show:

Arrested Development Yes, I am finally on the train. It just seems funnier and not quite as "let's humiliate the characters" as it did first season. Check it out when it returns in November, after the post-season baseball stops taking over Fox's prime time schedule.

How I Met Your Mother It's funny, it's smart, it does unexpected things, and it has a great cast including Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. Plus, it's a good old fashioned sitcom complete with ridiculous situations and a character that exists solely to put everyone in those ridiculous situations. But it works, and it works well; nice to see people renovating the form. The other nice thing is that once baseball ends, you'll be able to watch Arrested Development and How I Met Your Mother back to back, without having to endure King of Queens.

Everybody Hates Chris C'mon, people, it's Chris Rock. It's fucking hilarious. It's like The Wonder Years but in 1982 BedStuy and with a lot less sentiment. Like How I Met Your Mother, it works within the standard sitcom form but it doesn't always go where you think it's going.

Breaking Bonaduce I admit it, I'm totally hooked; the man has an addictive personality and absolutely no impulse control. And even when he's drunk out of his mind stalking his wife in some kind of roid rage (I'm not kidding about that) he still basically looks like a Muppet.

Oh, and Best Week Ever. So what are you watching?

I feel so dirty for saying it, but I'm watching Rome.

I think that's been the guilty pleasure of this fall. People seem to admit to watching it in whispers.

Somewhat OT, but didn't you write some Starsky and Hutch slash at some point? It was on last night and made me think of a story that I'm fairly sure was yours and I have no idea where it is.

Also, as you probably know, you were invoked at TWH.

We need to see a movie. Got a fall break? Got a random afternoon free?

Actually, just Veronica Mars. I haven't watched much tv while living here as I don't, as you know, have a television in my bedroom, making it really inconvenient, but usually I download at least a couple shows regularly per season. Last year I watched Lost and Smallville but stopped bothering with both of them before the season was over. I do occasionally watch a bit of America's Next Top Model while waiting for VM.

Are you feeling the ANTM? I tried to watch Smallville with Carrie the other night but it's like a daytime soap opera, with lots of meaningful gazes and weird pauses. Just dreadful.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Danny Bonaduce the MUPPET!!!! *ROTFLMAO*

Yet, I keep watching Breaking Bonaduce . . . I have concluded that Danny is quite likely a bonafide psychopath. Seriously.

Well, he had a total nightmare of a childhood—I mean, total—so I wouldn't be surprised. It's the way that he is just so absolutely selfish about his demands. "You no touch my woman" and all of that, and so quick to violence (though, steroids) and his obvious intelligence and his weird self-awareness and even sense of humor about it even though he is so clearly completely out of control. And in some ways he's like a kid, like when he was upset about the unfairness of the whole stripper thing.

What I found really bizarre was how his two idiot friends were reacting to that whole situation. I mean, they were trying to calm it down, they really were, but you could tell that they also know what he's like and that there's only so much they can do. I loved how that one guy kept saying, "don't ruin the night! I got a sitter!"

The shows I watch regularly are Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Crossing Jordan (because my husband turns on L&O, and then CJ is right after).

Occasionally I remember to turn on The Dead Zone at lunch time Friday. I want to watch CSI and Everybody Hates Chris, but I always forget they're on until the next day, when I've already missed them. I've caught CSI once, last week, because E was really tired and fell asleep really fast, so when I came downstairs after the bedtime routine it was 8:15 and CSI was on when I flipped on the t.v. *sigh* It was really good, too.

I can't hear Neil Patrick Harris speak without thinking of Spiderman. He did the voice of Peter Parker for a CGI toon that was on, apparently, MTV a while back; my son got it on DVD and watched it over and over and over and over and over and over.... Yes, Neil Patrick Harris is more Spiderman to me than Toby Maguire. Sad.

I am sending you the first four eps of CSI on Monday. I hadn't had a chance to make the tape before I left for TWH, and once I came back I thought eh, I should wait until after tonight and then make you a tape of the first four.

People seem to be liking the return to one team one case format but I admit, I like the more complicated plots where there are a lot of things going on, possibly because they are a little less everyone waits around for Gil to solve the case.

I totally forgot you were sending me a tape! Yay! The good thing about a bad memory: happy surprises can be happy surprises more than once....

I've seen one and a half eps so far, but I tend to agree with you. Even in the earlier seasons, prior to the team split, the group would split into mini-teams and handle multiple cases. It seems to keep things moving better. But, it's still pretty darn good. :)

I am not watching very much TV at all. Tuesdays I watch Bones and House, Wednesday night is for Lost, and Thursday is for CSI. And I'm behind in every one of those shows, though, after having had to work all those nights the week before TWH, then actually going to TWH. Alas and woe.

The only show I absolutely refuse to miss is West Wing. My sister and mother both watch a lot of TV, so I've gotten sucked into a couple of others - they got me hooked on The OC this summer while it was on in reruns, my sister watches Arrested Development and I have to say that it's a pretty damn funny show, and I have a soft spot for Crossing Jordan as well - but the only one I watch religiously is TWW, and that's been the case for years now. My mommy taped Sunday's ep for me and I caught up last night. :))
