After a lot of losing, a winning streak

Well, it's been a rough couple of months, no lie, and shit just kept coming, right up through Wednesday. Tuesday night I think I was wondering when my luck would change! And then? I don't know what happened, but shit just got better:

1. The New York Public Library is having a fine forgiveness drive over the next couple of weeks. To admit how much money that's going to save me would be embarrassing.
   
2. Even though my connection problems might not be solved, I did get some satisfaction from applecare this morning and hopefully it will all improve.
   
3. I seem to be doing well in school, despite the past two months.
   
4. Thanks to a combination of a $50 gift card, $50 in holiday money, coupons and sales I got eight CDs (four of which are two-cd sets), two DVDs and a book for only $60 of my own money:
