Trip entry #12: Sunday
Jul. 31st, 2005 11:48 pmSo, small breakfast, iced soy chai, trip to Houston for GIRL THINGS! These things included two awesome dresses and a cardigan at Torrid and a pair of bronze sandals from Steve Madden which will have to follow me as there is no way they will fit in my suitcase. Carrie scored at both places--great green flip flops and some hella cute heels, plus a top, cardigan and dress at Torrid. The obligatory trip to Sephora resulted in some eye cream for our Carrie that she promised to give me updates on. By the way, don't let her throw you: Her ass looks awesome in the trousers she's wearing today.
One thing I haven't mentioned about my stay is that I'm smoking far too much. But, all things will pass.
Tomorrow will be a long fucking day in an airport, my possibly least favorite place in the universe. I'm laying on Carrie's bed watching CSI (natch) and trying to stave off my usual pre-travel anxiety. It isn't the flying itself; ironically I finally relax once I'm in the air. Rather, it's all the "will I make my flight" bullshit: will I wake up on time, will I get my ass out of the house, will the line at security be ass-long, will I be able to get my rollerboard on the plane, will I make my connection, will I have time to get lunch, will it suck to get home, on and on and on. I'm glad I don't have to do this for work anymore although it's much better when I'm traveling for work than for pleasure because hey, if I miss the flight I miss the flight. But this is why I'd always rather take the train.
Thanks also to everyone who replied to my last post. I think I'm finally feeling better about the entire thing.
