Weekend's nearly over. It's a sunny winter Sunday afternoon, which I love, as they feel all homey and remind me of my childhood for some reason.
Friday night Moony and I went to the East Village for tapas with Ziggy, Josh, Cassie, Ali and Scott, where I think I ate my weight in bacon-wrapped dates. Then Holly joined us for some Italian pastry around the corner. Saturday we lost and found and lost Ziggy, picked up Jaida, then joined the others for Southern brunch. We went on to bubble tea, then an indie music store. Then, sadly,
maybethemoon had to go, but we are crossing our fingers for Local Moony.
Last night
tromboneborges made a divine lamb roast all by himself. Don't let him tell you different; all I did was slice some garlic. We also had a potato gratin (assembled by Holly with lots of help from Cassie), cream of broccoli soup (pureed with gusto by Val), and a salad from Emily that was supposed to be spinach but was instead arugula, which we all agreed was an improvement. Then Holly made an excellent trifle and greatly impressed me with her confidence with egg custard.
Now I am on my third load in the dishwasher, but really, that isn't much work, especially when everyone rinsed the dishes so nicely. ^_^
About current memes:
1-My high school experience was entirely banal. I had friends, some of whom I am still very close to. I was very involved in music, and if I had a clique in high school that was it. I was voted Most Likely to Succeed but not Smartest, which pleased me greatly. I did not have a boyfriend, nor did I date or go to bunches of parties. Mostly, I focussed on doing well at school so that I could get out of my god forsaken small town. I don't feel like my high school experiences really shaped who I am now; I really became who I am in college. So that meme? Not so much.
2-I don't really have a WIP to plea amnesty for, but I commemorated by reorganizing my story folder. Maybe I'll even do some writing today. It seems like that sort of day, doesn't it?
