So, like, you guys? New computer with massive hard drive! Airport! Wireless! No more disconnecting! I can't even deal!

Tomorrow I need to get a firewire cord so I can get all my shit off the old one and on to this one.

But for now, I'm getting reacquainted with my green chair and the feel of my cat sleeping at my feet while I watch the season finale of Kept, the VH1 reality show where Jerry Hall searches for a kept man. (I'm rooting for Seth but I'm making no bets; Austen is a good competitor and honestly, Jerry would make a good choice with either of them.)

Kitty so sweet. I'm mostly excited that I won't keep dropping offline all the time as that got really old, and that my kitchen table can go back to being where I eat instead of where I sit all the time because the ibook has to be on a flat surface because the ethernet needs to be stabilized and I need a mouse because the track pad doesn't work any more. I hate sitting in chairs.

And I can't wait to get my wireless router fixed so I'm not always tied to the desktop. I love my desktop, and it serves its purpose, but I like being able to read LJ in bed too. :))

OMG, girl. BUY A NEW ROUTER! How long has this been an issue now? And I know for a fact that you didn't spend near what you expected to here because I was a good steward and kept you out of the MAC store. And you have a birthday coming up. And now you can't chat and smoke at the same time and that sort of defeats the purpose.

Oh my god, Seth is still around?? I can't believe it! I saw the ep where Jason got booted for smooching on some girls in a bar, and I LOVED it, but I haven't managed to see any more eps. I bet she'll go for Austen, though. He at least looks the part of a kept man more. You know, European-model-sexy, kinda vacant-looking despite being intelligent enough. But Seth is adorable, isn't he?

I got a 12" ibook with 512 RAM and a 60 hard drive. I know you were looking at the pbook for me, but I couldn't justify the additional expense in order to get more power than I need, and around the time I was deciding Josh dented his powerbook and I felt I'd rather have durability. It's mostly just fun to have a computer that is fully operational. I'm like, OMG, the track pad works!

I also got the free printer, which OMG, it's this little hp and it's so retro looking, I love it! It's like hp went back into their vaults and found something from 1968 and applied the design to this little printer. And I got the free ipod mini which D bought off me for his sister, thus paying for my airport. (I got the little one, because I dug the whole playing over the stereo thing and because it was smaller and cheaper.) So today I'll run out and get the firewire cable and then I can move shit over which I'm glad about as that was the thing I was least looking forward to.

So what should I do with the old one? Think it will sell on ebay? I mean, it still works really well--fix the track pad and the ethernet and it will be fine.

Seth is completely adorable if a bit irresponsible and crazy. Poor Austen, he's so shy and awkward that his intelligence doesn't really shine through. I feel like we got to know him better in the interviews than Jerry did. Let me know if you want to be spoiled!

Yes, the finale was on last night. She chose Seth because he made her laugh, and she said that if she had been twenty years younger she might have chosen Austen. But I don't think that's true. It seems on the surface that Austen is the less mature choice because he's so good looking, but I actually think (especially after reading their blogs) that Seth is the less mature choice. Seth is the kind of "bad boy" rock star she's always gone for, and he's certainly handsome enough. He'll keep her laughing and that's probably what she needs more than anything else. But Austen seems a lot deeper, certainly more intelligent and more interesting. It just wasn't what she wanted.

What I also learned from the blog is that Maurizio, Austen and Seth became very good friends during the course of the show and remained so even after. So cute!
