Nice day

I spent the late night chatting with [livejournal.com profile] eccentricfemme, [livejournal.com profile] fiatincantatum and [livejournal.com profile] ely709. Bed, up early, and I pretty much just laid about all day watching Martha Stewart and movies like Nixon. Chatted for a bit with [livejournal.com profile] alexmalfoy.

Got a card with $25 from my parents, who are sweet but a bit random. Dad signed the card, "Love, Papa," a name I have never called him.

Ran out the door to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] johnwalton. Along the way, saw a punk kid in Times Square wearing a t-shirt that said, "Jesus was a c--t!" Ate profiteroles and managed to completely embarrass John by singing the preamble to the constitution a la "Schoolhouse Rock." Heh.

Excellent dinner with RL friends. (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] epicyclical for the perfect restaurant rec!) Had s'mores for dessert. (My friends had them put a candle in one of the marshmallows.) Best friend C____ arrived just after dessert, and we went bar hopping. Well, not hopping--we went to a fairly divey joint where we drank bourbon and listened to Judas Priest and Iggy Pop and such.

Now we two are in my apartment drinking vodka and listening to the Police. C____ made me read ch 7 of EWFS to him for the "Whole Lotta Love" parts. (Oh, and for those of you who read it: The Takers is his band, and the name is used with permission, thank you very much. I didn't quote their original songs; the lyrics tend toward "the only reason I fuck you is to make my cigarettes taste good.")

All in all, not a bad way to turn 33. Not a bad way at all.

Oh, shoot! I didn't realize until too late that yesterday was your birthday.

Well, sounds like you had a nice time, which is what I would have wished for you anyway!

Sounds like your birthday was wonderful! May I just say...

School House Rock I am so proud! *dances and sings the companion song I'm just a bill on Capitol Hill.* Those are the bestest ever! *huggles and sends out rays of sunshine and love.*

Well, it sounds like you had a great one and I'm glad of that! I can almost feel the chill atmosphere and I wish us E!vil Pink Ladies could have been there too.

Hey! Credit where credit's due....

That rendition of the Preamble was a *duet,* thank you very much! And we sounded glorious and it's John's (and Sheryll's) own fault they don't know it, them being born furriners and all.
