I got another comment on this post today. Remind me of this, the next time I moan about never getting any comments. However, the good things that came of all of that is, I didn't defriend anyone, no one defriended me, and really, if you meet grouchiness calmly (which, let me tell you, is really hard to do) the wank doesn't seem to get out of control. I've only lost my temper once on this journal, over a personal matter, and I hope to keep it that way. I was also told about [livejournal.com profile] harmoany, and was even rec'd on it! (Which was nice as someone was looking for Dean/Seamus fics recently and I wasn't rec'd there and was feeling a bit sorry for myself, I'm not ashamed to admit!) Thanks to Fandom Wank (and really, I never thought I'd say that) I was reminded of the definitive post on slash and gay rights, by [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen. I'm bookmarking it myself, so that I need never make that particular argument again.

I started that anon meme again, but you know, it's really tough to write something about everyone you have friended in like, a sentence. You want to write something superclever and amusing that could only ever be one person, but you inevitably fail because who can do that about 100 people? Then again, with all that is going on I'd like to put some positive energy into the universe. So I'm going to do a poll. Next post though.

This week I worked a ton. [livejournal.com profile] ali_wildgoose and I went to dinner and then caught Y Tu Mama Tambien on cable. It really is an amazingly wonderful film, and if you haven't seen it, don't let all the squee about sex put you off. There is much more going on in this film than a threesome. Today, I met [livejournal.com profile] calloocallay for brunch and then did some research and ran some errands, rewarding myself with two new issues of Fruits Basket!

And what is going on with all of you? Heard that dreadful Wilson Phillips cover of "Go Your Own Way"?

I've started that anon meme too. I thought "Hey! This can't be that hard!" and then I inevitably get stumped or sidetracked.

And I love [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen's post. I have it saved in my memories!

Not too much exciting here. I did get some cleaning done today. And i hope to get more done tomorrow. Oddly enough, I was thinking about you today! About how I would love to just get a good bottle of wine and sit on a porch and chat with you. <3 Random, I know. :))

I have not heard the cover and I am scared. o_O

I have not heard the Wilson Phillips cover of "Go Your Own Way" yet. And if I am lucky, I shall never hear it. It scares me just to think about such a thing existing. o_O

Also, while I am here, I contemplated the anonymous meme for like two seconds. Then I decided that when I get the time, I shall do what I did last time this meme made the rounds, and just name people and tell them what I feel about them. I dislike causing anymore paranoia in people than I already do. ;)

I saw your post about cleaning for a bit and then doing something else and then cleaning again. That's exactly what I do! I also always try to give myself little non-food rewards for doing things. Hence the Fruits Basket today, because doing research into my "next phase" always gives me anxiety.

Dude, I would be all about that chat! I would also be all about a porch, actually, being that I barely have a fire escape and it's sort of warm tonight and it would be nice to sit around and look up at the stars and smoke a cig and talk about everything and nothing.

also, dork, next time you think that ping me! >:O

>:O OKAY I WILL >:O

I'm in an apartment, but I have a nice screened in porch with great outdoor furniture (my dad works for a furniture company).

Heh, the cleaning thing actually worked. I got quite a bit done today. I am planning on getting a load of laundry folded before I hit the sack tonight and then doing the same tomorrow.

It's really bad.

Use it if you like it! Just grab it off my icon page. Lord knows you've made enough for me. You can use it as a base; you're more wordy than I am.

All the things I'm saying are positive, so hopefully it will be more of a fun guessing game. And I'll do what Katie did, and put people's names next to correct guesses.

You? cause paranoia? Never!

By the way, did you see this (http://www.livejournal.com/users/clearly_unable/95661.html?mode=reply)? A series of ten s/d drables with a plot and much of the cuteness.

Rach hates it when someone butts in on another conversation but I just wanted to say--I do this too! I've had a whirlwind cleaning round to do over the past few days because I'm meeting [livejournal.com profile] bowdlerized tomorrow, yay! and I've been using the clean/reward system liberally, otherwise it's the only way I'd get through it, because I absolutely hate to do any type of domestic chores.

I've always wanted to have a serious discussion with someone about Y Tu Mama Tambien. Was this the first time you'd ever seen it? It's such a great movie, but there are things about it, especially about the ending, that I think are over my head--or maybe things I'm reading too much into that I shouldn't. I haven't seen it in a while and would love to see it again, but more than that, it's one of those movies I'd just love to talk about--and usually what I hear most people say is something along the lines of, 'ooh, that's such a hot film.' Yawn.

Rach has firm ideas about LJ ettiquette but I'm a bit looser so no worries.

I saw Y Tu Mama Tambien once in the theater and once on DVD or cable or something at someone's house, so this was the third time. It really made a mark on me as I remembered so much of it, as though I had watched it several times. There is so much going on in that film. I don't think it's really about sex at all. It's really about class, if anything. It's why I get so irritated when people say the ending is homophobic, when it really isn't at all. But sure, you know, I'm around. How would you want to talk about it?

Good God, I had no idea they were even still around. *fears the cover*
