Right. Well. That's done then.

I don't think there is anyone reading this who doesn't know that I am (was?) involved in [livejournal.com profile] nocturne_alley. Hell, there's been a big fat clue for you sitting on my LJ for a few months now. If you don't want to know anything more than that, don't go into the cut. If you never read NA or never liked it, please, allow me my sentimentality over something that I worked very hard on, am so very proud of, and am mourning now. If you do click below, please don't spread things around as there are those that don't want to know "who's who". Thanks!

So yeah. Since July of 2002, I've been [livejournal.com profile] seamus_f in Nocturne Alley. I was the only player to have that LJ (the person who played Seamus before me had a different LJ). So everything you've seen from [livejournal.com profile] seamus_f, good or ill, has been me.

NA was my entry into the fandom. When I was asked to join (what an honor!) I had posted about five chapters of EWFS, and had been on LJ for two months, in fandom for about seven. I wasn’t on anyone’s radar screen, and I hadn’t met a single person in fandom face to face. The mechanics of how this all happened are unimportant now, but suffice it to say: I was shocked, I took a deep breath, and I said yes. And that made all the difference.

Because of NA, I met so many people, though of course I can't reveal them even now. I can honestly say that NA was one of the best experiences I've had in the fandom, and I'll cherish all of it. Yes, even when it was wanky, and frustrating, and annoying, and just plain pissed me off. Because it was worth it. And because these people, all of them who ever worked on this game, and especially all of them who were mods, put out one of the best things I have ever been lucky enough to be associated with.

I couldn't begin to say what my favorite bits of it are, though I'll likely pour through two years of posts and put plenty of them in Seamus' memories. I can't believe that when I click on that link on my LJ, I won't just be checking in on who commented lately, but looking at something that will never change. But I don't think I could possibly be prouder of the document we are leaving behind.

So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to every single player I ever interacted with and the ones I didn't, because all of you were absolutely the best, and most of all, thank you to those of you who watched, and enjoyed, for letting me indulge my Seamuslove and share it with all of you.

And now that I don't have another outlet for him, Seamus is stamping his feet about the EWFS sequel. No more stalling. Promise.

Long ago it must be, I have a photograph.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ely709 for making me this excellent icon from [livejournal.com profile] lovedoesthat, whose [livejournal.com profile] _hdcomic everyone should go read.

Preserve your memories. They're all that's left you.

I can't believe I never noticed the link. You rock so very very much. I can't believe the nights I've sat up squeeing over Seamus/Dean moments in NA (and all the Charlie/Seamus stuff which breaks my heart now). Thank you so so much for all you did playing him, I doubt you did it for us annoying fangirls and boys but still, we enjoyed it and appreciated it. I just love imagining Leighas galloping off into the sunset with Dean :D

(and if we get more EWFSverse then there might be something good in the ending after all.)

*HUGS*

And thank YOU for giving us such an amazing Seamus. NA has been such a huge part of my fandom experience. Even when I didn't read it, it was always there in the background. I'm so sad to see it go, but I understand why. And damn, way to go out on top full speed. <3

I wasn't 100% sure you were still playing him, but I'm so glad you are/were/whatever. I absolutely adored him. Totally. His wibbles over Charlie and Lupin and Dean and his fashion discussions with Draco and everything. Is Dean still the same person that I knew before, too?

Well, anyway - you were utterly awesome.

Oh my god! Seamus was one of my absolute favorite characters! I'm so glad you made this post, because I've been clueless about figuring out who players were, and I was hoping to give Seamus' player a big kudos. Fabulous job, absolutely! :D

I got here through a friendsfriends. :>

Just wanted to say that if I could have had anyone from NA as a best friend I would have chosen Seamus. So much love. :x

And you have no idea how excited I am that you like the comics. I've friended you under lovedoesthat. <3

I am such a fandom newbie and Kristen dragged me into N_A kicking and screaming just about the time we were in NYC. I still haven't decided whether to thank her or curse her for that. To date, I have done both. :D

I have read quite a few of the backthreads for Seamus, though, and wanted to give big love for him. He read as such a strong character and filled up a lot of space, you know? Very well-drawn, and just an altogether wonderful job.

So, like, now what? Do you completely restructure your time? I was thinking about this; it's got to be the equivalent of quitting a part-time job or dropping a long commute or something. Other than the sequel mentioned above, do you have a new time suck waiting in the wings or are there quieter times ahead for you? :)

You don't know me, but I just wanted to say thank you for making Seamus such a terrific character. He was always one of the N_A bright spots for me, especially his interactions with Remus and Draco, which were always totally in character. You all did great.

Clio, your work was stunning, uproarious, sly, delicious, snarky, and heartbreaking.

You rocked my world, and it's been a pleasure and an honor to work with you.

Keep writing, baby, because you've got the chops to go all the way.

Cheers,
Peg

I'm actually not at all surprised. I have a suspicion you were a player, and if you weren't [livejournal.com profile] seamus_f, you'd have been [livejournal.com profile] deanthomas. and really, who else loves Seamus enough to craft such an incredible interpretation?

You've done an amazing, outstanding, beautiful job. Seamus' conversations with Remus were one of my favorite things about NA, and are on my list of Stuff I Read When My Soul Needs Soothing.

Time it was, and what a time it was, it was...
A time of memories
A time of confidences.

Thank you, because that's all I can say.

I followed N_A, and Seamus was one of my favorites, for all he did and said... so thank you very much for playing him. You were fabulous. And, well, thats about all that can be said, other than thank you (again).

Oh, excellent. As I said on [livejournal.com profile] pegkerr's lj the other day, I didn't read NA more than occasionally (my minimal time, not the quality of what I found), but I enjoyed reading some of the characters very much. Thanks for your well-considered, nuanced RPing!

My god, I was (I still am!) so in love with [livejournal.com profile] seamus_f like you have no idea! Ah the tragedy of gaydom! I've been wanting his hand in marriage and happy seperate sex lives for over a year now! I've been the insane fangirl in the wibblechat a couple of nights ago!

And I've never even gave a f**k about Seamus Finnigan before I saw NA. Um.

*blushes ever so deeply and flees*

Clio, I know we rarely got the chance to interact, but damned if I didn't fangirl you like mad for your brilliant, witty, poignant, and graceful interpretation of Seamus. It was an honour RPing with you.

Just a random passerby seconding and thirding what everyone has already said - your Seamus was amazing. From the meagre scraps in the books, you built him up to be one of the most damned realistic characters on NA. Thank you. I'll miss him.
