Well, my TV watching has just been cut in half. This is likely all to the good.

Nick and Jessica ended tonight. Double episodes had kept me going since Carmen & Dave ended a few weeks ago. So, Wednesdays at ten is over.

Last week's results show for AI was an hour long and had a few musical numbers, but this week is just like the ones from last year—those advertising videos and some AI alum singing their random new song, and then the vote off, and that's it. So, no more actually watching that for me.

Also over is America's Next Top Model, which ended up as Yoanna. I really liked all three girls at the end, so I'm pretty pleased with the ending. Yoanna was the one most into fashion, so it's a good choice.

Queer Eye, though, fa sure. Did anyone else think the straight guy this week was a little light in his loafers, though? But I can catch that on the ten million reruns.

So, from two nights of television, I'm down to the performance show of Idol. Which, this week, was pretty lame. Safe, safe, safe. Josh was all, where's the real country music? Absent, my friend. Absent.

Diana: A Broken Wing, a Martina MacBride song, and very well done. So what was up with the bottom three? I think that she just comes out and slams it and it went against her to go first. But she wasn't in the last two, so maybe it was just an accident of math.

George: I Can Love You Like That, which was really, quite good. And go him.

Fantasia: You Were Always On My Mind. Yeah baby. You can be pretty and subtle and restrained any time you want to. There's you, and there's everyone else.

John: King of the Road. Poor w00bie forgot the words, but la la'd through it like a pro, like he meant to scat that part. Good instincts. I'm not sure it was the right song even though it swings because he had no idea what it all meant. (As Josh pointed out, he's 16 so why should he, but still.)

Camile: Desperado. Honey, don't put those little hip hop girl/boy band wavers on every note. This is a fucking Eagles song. Just sing it. You so deserved to be in the bottom three, and I wish to god they had voted your ass off.

JPL: She Believes in Me. Oh, JPL, Kenny Rogers? WHY? So you said you wanted to switch it up and slow things down, but this was NOT the night to do it. I was looking forward to you and Matt being all country and you did not deliver. Unimpressed, JPL, unimpressed.

Jasmine: Breathe. You know, Faith Hill is one damn good singer, and one damn elegant lady, and you are 16, Jasmine, and while you are cute and all, you simply cannot swan across the stage the way she did. It was fine, but not great. Wrong song.

Jennifer: No One Else on Earth. Well, Wynona did it better, and you seemed a little scared of it. I liked the straight hair though. Not great, but better than last week.

Matt: Amazed. What the bloody fuck were you thinking? Where was the Garth you should have sung? Where was the saloon song? Simon said you chose wrong and he was right! So wrong! So wrong! You're gone, and it is all your fault! Idiot!

LaToya: Ain't Goin Down til the Sun Comes Up. Oh, here's that Garth song. Rock! I mean, Country! Fantastic, tons of energy, and what the hell with this being the first non-ballad? What was up with that? You are coming up fast on the inside, girl. Keep it up!

Amy: Sin Wagon. Okay, I know it wasn't your call that they changed "mattress dancing" to "crazy dancing" but how lame was that? You owned this song, however great the Dixie Chicks are, and everyone knew it. What a great ending! What a comeback from last week!

So, yeah, goodbye Matt! I don't get more time to figure out your sexuality, which is sad. I will totally miss you, wah!

Holly? What did you think?
