Thanks so much to everyone who commented on the entry about Vivian, my Mimi. I guess mostly, no, I'm not angry, I'm only sad that she fucked my mother up so much. The update on the cat is, she's fine, I'm just a bad owner. I bought her some toys that hang from things so she can play by herself a bit more, and I play with her right when I get home, in the kitchen, while my dinner is heating up, and I was hard core with the spray bottle, and I sit on the chair more than the couch, and all those things together seem to help. And with [livejournal.com profile] evil_erato here this weekend, more toys will be purchased, you betcha.

Yesterday I went down to Miami for an awards party for my company. We won a prize, the best plan in our category! In the world! It was great. Awards presented out on the beach, where we sat on huge cushions and things on the sand and the wind whipped around and it was gorgeous. Drank too much. They didn't feed us. A very cute Mexican guy who worked with me on a recent major major project taught me how to merengue. A friend asked me, "Who's the rock star?" and I was like, "Oh, that's Gerardo. He's a computer programmer."

So there's something to aspire to, Josh. If you were Mexican and named Gerardo perhaps you, too, could run around at company parties in half-undone shirts and tight jeans teaching girls how to merengue. However, I trust you to figure out a way to do it anyway.

This morning I had brekkie with [livejournal.com profile] heidi8 on Lincoln Road and it was excellent, and I got to see her new minivan (which isn't very mini, actually) and we talked about PoA and OotP and marketing. And then I got on a plane and came home, after a pit stop at [livejournal.com profile] ali_wildgoose's office to pick up a bed.

I don't have a lot to say about this list except that they don't say it's rock but of course it is. It's like, rock plus the other stuff you should own if you like rock. (You can tell it's that sort of music when the only jazz they have is Miles and Coltrane.) Which of course we should expect given it's Rolling Stone. Oh, and who's the Roxy Music freak?

The 1976 version of A Star Is Born is on TV right now. What I love about this movie is that Kris Kristofferson dies by crashing his El Camino in the desert while listening to an 8-track of the masters of Barbra Streisand's new album. That's so seventies, man.

Also, I'm watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and dude, it rocks. But I'm so in bed when it's over.
