Leipzig is calling you names

For those of you that knew, I finally got a relatively good night's sleep last night. Still woke up in the wee sma's but I'd gone to bed at about 1145 and woke up at 530 so that's really pretty close to my usual sleeping time.

The good thing about waking up briefly is that I caught the whole TeniMyu "we will report you to the appropriate authorities" post that [livejournal.com profile] ina linked to earlier, and while yes, these people were heavy handed and ridiculous, my real reaction is:

There's a Prince of Tennis live action musical? Seriously?

[livejournal.com profile] bhanesidhe, you would tell me if there was a Furuba musical, wouldn't you?

When I fell back to sleep, I dreamt of a Japanese bus driver taking me home and making me paper flags . . .

Ummm...completely out of the loop here... I guess they're not talking about Andre Agassi, right? ;)

ha, you must not have aja friended as I hear she talks about little else.

PoT is a manga/anime/multimedia extravaganza about, IIRC, some teenage boys who play a mean tennis ball. Google it and I'm sure you'll find a better explanation than that. Hey, they have a whole manga about boys who play Go, so why not tennis?

[identity profile] annearchy.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, okay. I'm not into anime/manga etc. I can't seem to get past Pokemon and Yugi-Oh ;)

Of what I've seen of TeniMyu, it is the most amazingly cracked out thing in existence. You'll laugh. You'll cry, but only because you're laughing so hard.

It is written: The most cracktastic canons will attract the most self-consciously self-important fans, and wank will follow as the day follows the night.

1) I avoid PoT like the plague, biblical measures, frog raining, first born's dying. cannot deal with that shit.

2) are you saying you would not love to see Shigure go crazy with the karaoke goodness? ^^; cuz you know you do...

[identity profile] jlh.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I'm saying that I would love to see this, and that I'm counting on you to tip me off if/when it happens. Personally I'm hoping for people in big furry-like cat/dog/rat costumes who switch off on stage with the lithe boys, and a girl in an onigiri costume with just legs, like those old dancing coffee cans or something.

I am so not on that PoT train. twitch, indeed.

[identity profile] bhanesidhe.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I would indeed tell you if this happened in the Furuba world, but I gotta say what you've described sounds more likely to occur 'On Ice'. ^^;

*puts you on list to be notified* You know, if I ever hear of Furubamyu.

Yes, there are PoT myus. They are absolutely cracktastic, it was how Ina roped me into PoT despite my objections. Seriously, though, they're very bad: bad singing, rather bad acting, bad choreography. They still make you addicted, of course! They're very, very, very, very GAY.

[identity profile] jlh.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
How could it be anything BUT cracktastic? I mean, truly.

Ugh, I'm so sorry that fandom is immersed in wank. I checked out the further developments and man, that's some thought policing going on, is what that is. I can't believe that girl is American because her syntax is so weird.

[identity profile] chinawolf.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Depending on whose post you read, they aren't American, but Italian. ;) I just don't get how a sane person (and she is, usually) can possibly tell someone that their morals are wrong (and that they're kicked out the comm) because they do not mind when other people disobey some actor's wishes. I mean, honestly. I don't use pics from fanartists when I don't have their permission to do so, of course I don't! But I don't send an email to a fanartist to ask if the icon'er really had that permission for every single fanart icon I see, either.
