I was really angry earlier today, which I hate because it's just not a productive emotion for me. So then I had a glass of wine and some frozen pizza and watched a crappy VH1 countdown, and decided to make a meme out of it to cheer myself up. Here are the first lines of some songs that pretty much all of you know—a gimme!—so I'm not going to post the answers as people guess them. Bonus points if you can tell what the list is.

I have to say, I've never looked up the lyrics for smells like teen spirit before and so I totally wouldn't have recognized them.

It's the only Nirvana song I know well (not a fan). I actually remember it because it was quoted in a 'real life' story in a girls' magazine I used to read as a teenager; the tale-teller was talking about finding the lyrics written out in her drug-addict sister's bedroom after the sister's death. Weird, the things that stick in my head.
